Energy Saving Champion I've been Money Tipped!
Applied to switch to M and S on 28/08 went through without any hassle switch date for gas and electric was 7/10, was in credit with old supplier EDF and money refunded direct to my account.

But I did the switch via Quidco, expecting £100 cash back, currently deal not tracking and I have raised query with Quidco.

Did anyone sign up via Quidco around this time and was your switch successfully tracked?

The deal with M and S was the best on offer at that time , but the bonus of cashback would help.

My switch seems to have happened, taken 6 weeks. Rang their customer service direct to give meter readings - the ' leave a message on their answerphone with the readings ' seems a very amateur set up. However now have my £20 m&s vouchers. The cashback is still showing half the amount promised, but that will hopefully get uplifted once validated.

Have to say i'm a bit disappointed with the quality of M&S gas and electricity. I was expecting a higher quality fuels from M&S - but they seem to be exactly the same, the lighting isn't any brighter and gas ain't any hotter... Poor show M&S.

I applied on Sep 1, and my QuidCo didn't track either. I made a claim on Sep 8, and this morning received an email informing me that QuidCo have just submitted the claim to M&S. Looks like it'll be a slow old process.

After how many weeks are people getting a letter with details to submit meter readings? I am at 4.5 weeks is that too soon? Does anyone have a phone number where you can speak to someone to provide meter readings? Thanks

I got mine on Saturday 26th October and told I was moving on the 29th, I signed up on 21st Sept. I rang through my readings on the morning of the 29th - switchover day.
  • Supposed switch over date has come and gone and nothing has happened. Another dd going out tomorrow for EON, haven't got a clue what is going on. I'm not ringing Southern Electric again as their operators know nothing. In hindsight wish I'd transferred to another EON plan as in previous years. Amusing to hear some government minister today saying that he wants to get the switchover time down to 24 hours, he's having a laugh.

I only got the letter day before the switch (ie. after 6 weeks). Rang them up with the meter reading on the actual switch day - used their customer service no. 0800 294 3263, rather than the meter reading phone no they gave, as that is just an answerphone.

My previous supplier (Scottish Power) haven't billed me yet. They've got one more day and i'm cancelling the DD - there's no way you want to be in credit at the end of an energy contract - getting the money back is not always automatic - thieving swine.....

Same here in all respects. I've contacted e-on to get my money back as I've heard nothing from them and I know I'm in credit!

I switched on the 29th and was previously with Scottish Power too, I've logged into my Scottish Power account and it is showing my electricity account as closed but the gas one is still live, last year when I moved over to Scottish Power from Eon both accounts didn't move over on the same day. I looked at my account details and it's showing direct debit amount as zero and I'm about £250 in credit. I'm not closing my direct debit as my final bill still needs to be made up and once I've had that I'll chase them to pay the remainder back into my bank account.

On the first of every month I submit my meter readings and I've just done this with M&S, I like the way its automatically calculated and you know how much its cost you in £s, didn't like the totals though *gulp*.
