I am not sure if all the complaining about increase in DD is valid.
'Unless' your budget does not stretch to paying this extra monthly amount then I don't know of many other places including savings accounts where you get 3% interest on your positive balance.
I'm a bit wary of OVO as I don't want to build up a large credit at only 3% when I get 8% in my bank account.
Can anyone confirm that as long as I don't go in to debit, don't join in the "winter months" (which I'm waiting to have defined) then my DD should be annual usage cost / 12?0 -
Just done a quote on here and on OVO's own site and the OVO quote is £1486 while MSE's is £1351 for exactly the same deal not sure if that inspires me with confidence with the Cheap Energy Club calculating the correct quoteBest Comp wins in 25 years of comping. Holidays to Hawaii, Toronto, Thailand twice, Dubai twice, Cyprus, Spain, Lake District, Glasgow and London. A couple of £1000 wins as vouchers. 2 Dimplex Fires. Baby cot and chest of drawers. £500 of blinds. Shibumi Jacket. Various small cash prizes under £500 and shopping vouchers. Cosmetics & weedkiller!0

Thinking of switching both my energy and that of my parents to Ovo as we're coming to the end of our fixed tariff with E-On.
I'm not sure whether to take the 1 year fix or the 2 year fix though.
For those of you with Ovo what do you tend to go for?0 -
I'm on the yearly one, I'd sooner not be locked into a long contract as you never know which way the market will go in the space of a year yet alone over 2 years.
I'm also on the flexible payments where i can alter the amount taken every month within a range based on my usage over the last month0 -

Yes I was wondering about that.I'm also on the flexible payments where i can alter the amount taken every month within a range based on my usage over the last month
How does that work then? Surely in Winter you would be looking at higher payments than in Summer?0 -
My usage rarely changes during the year, you have the option of keeping the same amount if it matches what your spending or to increase / decrease the amount.
So far I haven't needed to increase the amount taken as what I'm on covers it0 -

I expect it would work in that case. However in both the case of my parents and myself, gas usage is much higher in Winter than in Summer.
I've worked out that there would need to be an increase of around 13.9% over the one year fix to break even with the 2 year fix at the end of the two years.
Could prices rise by more than this over the next year?0 -
I swapped from Npower to OVO at the start of February. The switch over went smoothly and the OVO website actually works properly compared to the Npower website. So far I am happy.0

im in the processing off switching, and so far so good. i now have the date of the switch in.Promo codes are never always cheaper..... isnt that right EuropCar?0

We are currently with Npower but moving home in a few days and the supplier there is Southern Electric. After doing comparisons, Ovo is coming up the cheapest, with First Utility second and Scottish Power third. Feedback on the 2 latter companies aren't very good so I'm thinking of going with Ovo for their capped 1 year tariff. I'm not concerned about giving a meter reading every month, that's no bother. Shall I or shan't I? Many thanks.0
