I did send OVO an email about their decision this morning but, given that I consider their decision to be based purely on a desire to increase charges and not, as they claim, on a desire to be 'fair' to all their customers, I decided they are no longer the company that they used to be (I have been with them since they started up) so it is time to go. The info from dirtmother (above) only serves to confirm to me that this decision - and the reasons behind it - are based on financial rather than other reasons. If they had just been honest and stated that they needed to cancel the discount for financial reasons it would have been an easier pill to swallow (an increase of £60 p.a. on energy is not that much of a hike), but deceitful and underhand activity is not the mark of a company I want to deal with. Time to go.0 -
Theyve just sent me a cheque from 2017! Haven't been with them for years! Well done0

No, haven't challenged them but of course it is a factor in assessing whether it makes financial sense to stay. Not bothered about the principle (bit of a relief in a way!)0

Ovo must be the worst company for customer service.
Since I joined them in September 2020 I have had to make so many complaints, about my smart meter not working, told different stories about why it did not, including parts being sent to me, that were not. Checked to make sure I was getting a visit by an engineer, and told yes, but did not come.
I changed to them through the Cheap Energy Club, and was expecting a payment from then for using the switch.
Ovo seem to think I am not their customer!! Cheap Energy Club waiting over a month for a reply from OVO.
They even sent numerous bills just showing the standing charge. I had to keep phoning them to get a proper bill for my usage.0 -
Hi alas21 and welcome to the forum.I agree they don't seem to be doing too well at the moment.I don't quite understand why they are sending you bills if you are not their customer.
Warning: In the kingdom of the blind, the one-eyed man is king.

ovo have introduced a new tariff aimed at electric car users. If you fit an ovo car charger you are eligible for a tariff equivalent to 1p per mile for charging your car.
