I've just applied to switch to OVO via the Cheap Energy Club. Projected savings are £258 a year on my current supplier EON , oh and a £30 cash back after 3 months. I'll keep you posted on how smoothly , or not, things run ...0

I've just taken a leap and made the switch to Ovo from EDF, going for another fixed price deal as these have saved me a fortune over the last 10 years!0

I too have started the switch process with Ovo from EDF :0)It's better to regret something I did do than to regret something that I didn’t. :EasterBun0

Just started the switch from EDF Price Promise April 2015 to OVO Energys Cheaper Energy Fixed Tariff via the Energy Club.
Comparison shows £94 annual saving, £30 cash back in 3 months + £60 discount after 12 months = £184 saving.
It's only a 12 month fixed tariff, so would end around the same time as my current tariff, but the savings make it a no brainer really :-)0 -
They say there is a £30 discount per fuel does anyone know how this is applied?
The prices quoted on this site have had the discount added so if for any reason you don’t get that discount then the overall cost of the deal is £60 more expensive.
If like nPowers offers of old and is applied after staying with them for a full yesr then the early exit fees could go up to £120 I.e. normal exit fees and loss of discount.0 -
I've been with OVO for around 4 years and have just been offered renewal at their latest rates. With 3 options and 2 durations now it isn't as simple as before, but a little scribbling on the back of an envelope soon showed me their self-managed 2-and-a-bit year option had to be my best.
I could have gone a wee bit cheaper - about 70 quid - but the current political situation pushed me toward longer term security.
I've now very happily confirmed this arrangement and am still saving around £30-40 on last year's very fair prices. That and the fact that they don't muck me about with silly DD changes and I am one very smug bunny. :cool:0 -
I'm due for renewal soon as the current contract ends on 29/04/14, pretty sure I will be staying with them for the 3rd year running but will wait for the notice to come through with the options on0

My experience so far with OVO (copied from EDF fix coming to an end thread)
Update to my switch from EDF Price Promise Apl 2014 to OVO 12 month Fix:
28/02/14 - Applied online via Simply Switch on Topcashback.
04/03/14 - Received email from OVO, asked to check details. Address was incorrect (missing road name, probably my fault during online application?), phoned up and was well received by OVO telephonist (only rang for about 30 seconds before answer) telephonist tried several options for me and got me a person to help me, this only took about 3 minutes and I never felt like they had 'forgotten' about me. Person I was put through to changed my address details as requested. First impression of OVO was good.
11/03/14 - Received welcome pack from OVO through post. Easy to understand letter, a street talky yuff style but clear. Stated change over date of 2nd April. So for those of you trying to time it as close to the end of April as possible about 5 weeks before i.e. 24th/25th/26th March but of course time could go up as end of April rates come to an end.
12/03/14 - Used details supplied in welcome pack to register online, I managed to register online without any problem (I used normal OVO website not 'beta' address stated)
In summary so far so good and good initial impression of OVO, hope the rest of the switch goes OK.0 -
Can I ask if you have full access to your OVO online account?
I can only access our details but the opening reads still do not show.0 -
Can I ask if you have full access to your OVO online account?
I can only access our details but the opening reads still do not show.
I also can only access My Registration, My details and Logout.
My cut over date isn't until 2nd April and the My Registration wiggly time line shows that I am not at the Meter Reading stage yet. I am presuming that at the appropriate time I will be asked for meter readings and an appropriate extra link will appear on my OVO screen.0
