I'm another customer on the V19 tariff who has just been emailed with the offer of V21, which isn't at all attractive.
What's the Co-op tariff that others have found? This does not come up for me on the price comparisons.
Malc from EON - I'm in receipt of the warm home discount. What happens to that if I move supplier?
Hello Maureen43 and sorry we might be losing you too.
I've just posted a bit of information about our Fixed 1 Year version 19 tariff above (in reply to Nellybee). Hope it's of interest.
On the Warm Home Discount, it depends on whether you're in the Core or Broader Group.
Core Group customers are those identified by the Department of Work and Pensions (DWP) as being eligible for Warm Home Discount. The DWP will write to these customers to let them know and, provided they were our customer on 10 July 16, we'll make the payment regardless of if they've changed supplier since.
It's different for those who qualify under the Broader Group. These customers need to apply to their energy supplier each year. If eligible, we'll make the payment provided they're still our customer. We've closed applications for 2016/17 and have started making payments. We're aiming to make all payments to customers eligible under the Broader Group by the end of May 17. If you're eligible under this group and haven't received the payment before you change supplier, it won't be made afterwards.
Hope this explains Maureen43.

Its with great sadness that my final days with E.on are drawing to a close.
I know the excellent service we receive from their reps on this site and their online account facilities are brilliant but in the end it was a choice of paying about £150 a year more or going elsewhere. I have managed to get a 2 year fix but if E.on comes up with some tempting deals then I would definitely return. During my time with them they have been superb and a shining example on how a company should treat its customers.
Many thanks for the kind words MABLE. They're very much appreciated.
Understand why you're going and that the product review I've mentioned has come too late for you. The results of this will appear on our website in the next few months.
Sorry to lose you MABLE.

Yes I agree with most of what you say, I too will be bidding E-on farewell unless they produce a better deal than what they have at present for me during Jan/Feb.
I must disagree however with your last comment didn't they introduce their latest best deal, and then limit it to new customers only, whilst you were with them? Not a shining example of how a company should treat its customers in my view.
Sorry to lose you too FOREVER21. As above, our product review is ongoing as we look to freshen up our approach. Not sure what the outcome will be or when but our website is the best place to see what happens.

What was the lifetime of V19 Malc ?
Ie what is the last possible end date of a customer ?
If nothing better happens for me before early January i'm out.0 -

Malc perhaps you (or someone else from EON) would like to explain to us why it is taking months to review this?
You only sell two things for God's sake. It's not like you're a supermarket with millions of different items to price and sell? Perhaps the calculator batteries have run out?
It's plain for all to see (including your competitors) that your customers are abandoning ship in huge numbers through no fault of their own! :mad:0 -

Lets hope my switch goes through smoothly.
Hello Saddler1975 and sorry we've nothing of interest for you.
As above, Our Fixed 1 Year version 19 Tariff was a heavily discounted product and was only available for a limited time. Like many special offers, this had a restricted shelf life and has now been replaced with products more in line with current market conditions.
We've stopped giving Reward Points on version 21. This is part of our product review as we look to learn more about what customers think of such schemes. The aim is to freshen up our approach and have a new product portfolio in 2017.
Your preferred supplier will be in touch with us to take over the account. They'll let us have their opening meter readings and we'll use the same to close our account and issue the final bill. This stops the same energy from being charged twice.
The switch will go through in about two and half weeks. Although it's often longer before accounts open/close as information needs to go through certain third parties like the energy distributors, meter operators, meter readers, national databases etc. This is to let them know about the new circumstances.
Sorry again to lose you Saddler1975.

I was paying £83 with Eon and even got a £50 credit 6 weeks ago. The new rates presented are £112 or £116 which are unacceptable .
uSwitch suggested Bulb and moneysupermarket.com suggested others including Green Star Energy ..The latter has early exit fees ( £30 x 2) but is a lot cheaper than Eon
Eon is really biting off the hand it feeds it and with no obvious justification for the hike in prices .
Hello molley and sorry to lose you too.
As above, quite a few of the tariffs we had available 12-18 months ago were heavily discounted. These included our Fixed 1 Year versions 18/19 as well as some collectives we were involved with. Like many such offers, they had a restricted shelf life and are no longer available for sale.
If you're on a tariff with an exit fee, this won't apply if you're inside the Price Protection window. This is open 49 calendar days before a fixed tariff ends until 20 working days after. As well as no exit fees, we'll keep you on the cheaper prices whilst a change of supplier goes through (usually takes about two and half weeks). Your preferred supplier does, though, need to contact us during this period.
We're currently looking to freshen up not just our tariffs but how and when we let our customers know about them. Not much use to you at the moment, I know, but hope the other information is of interest.

No doubt the new E.oN tariffs will be entitled Gold, Frankincense and Myrrh as they have been so long in coming. Sorry - I couldn't resist. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

pinkteapot wrote: »Still baffled by what's happened to Eon's fixed prices. I'm on v19 for gas and electricity and just looked at the "our best deal for you" tool. What a joke!
Estimates:
Current v19 - £90 per month
v21 - £117 per month
Energy Plan (ie variable) - £120 per month
A 30% increase to go from our old fixed tariff to the current version. And v21 is only 2.5% cheaper than being on their standard variable pricing!
Switching to someone else is a PITA for us. Some idiot previous owner put an E7 meter at our house, even though it's a large detached house with gas central heating. 80% of our usage is daytime, so we're on a standard tariff for electricity, not an E7 one. Eon are one of few suppliers who let you do this. Most others only let you have E7 tariffs if you're on an E7 meter, so switching means getting the new supplier to change our meter. I can't imagine Eon would do it for us to help us switch. *sigh*
My v19 runs out at the end of January, so tempted to give it a bit longer and see if they come to their senses with a better v22??
Prior to this I would have said Eon were excellent. We moved here two years ago and the previous owners were with Eon for electricity (presumably because of the E7 meter) and British Gas for gas. We switched the gas to Eon and that was really easy and quick. And with v19, they were very competitively priced for us.
Hello pinkteapot.
Our Fixed 1 Year version 19 tariff was a heavily discounted product that guaranteed to keep unit prices and standing charges at set levels for 12 months. As with most special offers, this had a restricted shelf life and has now been replaced with products more in line with current market conditions.
Over the last couple of years we've been able to offer a few discounted tariffs but it's only possible to do this at certain times. As above, we're currently reviewing our products and the way we offer them. Part of this review is a guarantee not to increase our standard rates until at least April next year. More developments will follow in the coming weeks/months and will be on our website. I do understand, this is of little use to you at the moment.
We'd be happy to change your meter from Economy 7 to single rate. There's a charge of £64.76 to do this. There's also a 2-3 week wait for an engineer's visit. After this, it can take a further couple of weeks to update all affected parties with the new details. These include the energy distributors, meter operators, meter readers and national databases. These times could be longer as we head into the holiday season and would more than likely mean that your current tariff would've ended before everything has been updated. This, in turn, would leave you on higher prices. You won't be able to start a switch until these updates have been done as the meter details your preferred supplier will apply for would be wrong and cause the switch to be rejected.
Sorry I can't offer anything more positive at this particular time pinkteapot but glad we've looked after you in the past.
