Eon energy reviews: Give your feedback

Well, it seems my optimism was misplaced, with only 14 days until my v19 comes to an end and no sign of any new tariffs, The Scottish power tariff I'd been eyeing is gone, so I'll be having one last look around the market and most likely starting a switch to Iresa before the end of the day.
I've been with E.ON for almost 9 years over two properties, and have been happy with the service. The app and online accounts were easy to use too. I know v19 was heavily discounted, and I don't expect E.ON to cut their own throat just to keep me, but a 40% price increase over last year (and removal of rewards) is just too much.
They don't have to be the cheapest, just don't make me feel like a mug for staying!
Its a shame as well that the new smart meters that E.ON just paid to fit will revert to dumb meters, but providing my own readings was never a chore, and the main reason I wanted them was to get rid of the old bulky E7 meter and radio teleswitch. Meaning I can now fit another shelf in the meter cupboard and can get single rate electric from any supplier (which with only 12% usage in the night is essential).
Come on E.ON, I want to stay, give me a reason!
Best you do it soon then as Iresa does nothing during the cooling off period of 14 days. Iresa is not signed up to 17 day switching. It follows that E.oN may not be informed of the switch until after the end of your fixed tariff term. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. Meter read by EoN, new one fitted, tariff runs 2 yrs was agreed with Age UK to ensure lowest pos rate for elderly.
Lost confidence totally when told my use for Dec came to over £70, my Christmas lights and cooking Christmas dinner would use a lot! Previously asked how often I use my tumble drier! Complaining aside. A register of elderly, disable and vulnerable can work well, avoid problems with poor estimations for items not used. I had no Christmas lights, didn't cook Christmas dinner and don't have a tumble drier! Wonder what else they have estimated me for that is not applicable?0 -

It's done. I may well spend a few days on E.ON's variable tariff, but it should work out to less than 50p a day so not the end of the world. Now I just need to wait for the first direct debit payment to be taken so I can poke Natwest about adding Iresa as a supplier under the '3% cashback on utility bills' reward.3.6 kW PV in the Midlands - 9x Sharp 400W black panels - 6x facing SE and 3x facing SW, Solaredge Optimisers and Inverter. 400W Derril Water (one day). Afternoon forestlands.
Why has the meter been changed? Was it a standard change because the previous one had reached the end of its guaranteed life or was it faulty? Have we fitted a Smart Meter or replaced it with a traditional type?
If the meter's okay, bills will be accurate provided they're based on actual meter readings and the tariff you've chosen.
If smart, going forward, the meter will send us readings remotely via electronic messages. This will help keep bills accurate. If not, there are various ways to let us have readings. These include online through our website or app, by phone, text, email or letter. The more readings we have, the more accurate accounts are.
We do have a register of vulnerable customers. It's the Priority Services Register. This lets us provide free support and advice for customers of pensionable age or with disabilities. This support includes arranging for the meter to be read quarterly. Let us know if you're not on this register but are eligible. We can quickly add you to it. There's more information about this and other services on our website under 'Help and Support.'
Hope this is of interest forestlands.

Sorry to lose you Raxiel but provided the new supplier contacts us within the Price Protection window (open 49 calendar days before the tariff end date until 20 working days after), you'll stay on the cheaper prices and avoid any exit fees. As Hengus says, though, not all suppliers have signed up to faster switching (about two and half weeks).

Some clarification please. Your Price Protection Window satisfies 2 Standard Licence Conditions: the 49 to 42 days before the end of a fixed term contract, and the 20 days is the time minus 1 day to complete a switch after the cooling off period. Most suppliers make it clear that the gaining supplier has to notify them of a pending transfer before the end of the fixed term contract to avoid a switch to the supplier's SVR.
Are you saying, for example, that if I applied to switch to Iresa 3 days after the end of my E.oN fixed term contract, and Iresa did nothing for 14 days ( which is their way) but they notified you on the 19th day after the end of a fixed term contract of a pending transfer that E.oN would price protect until the switch goes through or are you only price protecting until the 20th day? This is a system account and does not represent a real person. New tariff out today, 'Eon Saver Fixed 1 year v4' Same standing charge and marginally lower unit rates for electricity and gas to V21, still no rewards. Direct debit only (so £70 off the top EDIT: No saving if you already pay by monthly DD).
Works out about 1% cheaper than V21 but includes a £30 per fuel exit fee.
Don't really see the point of it to be honest.
I spoke to someone on the phone* and the lady said they'd been told it was 'one of the best tariffs on the market' which is a bit overenthusiastic. It's not even the best among the big 6 (even if it is lower half).
*I calculated the £75 reward tariff discussed elsewhere on this board would effectively be £3 a month more expensive than switching, which would have been enough to make me stay, but they can't bend the rules if I wasn't one of the chosen few so my transfer continues uninterrupted.3.6 kW PV in the Midlands - 9x Sharp 400W black panels - 6x facing SE and 3x facing SW, Solaredge Optimisers and Inverter. 400W Derril Water (one day). When I saw your post and mention of a new tariff, I hoped this was what all the EON exiters had been waiting for, but unfortunately not so. This new tariff is still £290 more expensive than the current V19 for me. I haven't been offered it but even with the £100 reward it doesn't come close to the Iresa tariff, so 13 days and counting to change of supplier!0 -
 72nd by price for me, £157 behind the best "big6" 12mth - EDF, 2nd by price - with no fees, are they having a laugh
I honestly think there is a cosy little cartel within the big 6 and they take it in turns to offer the best deal.0 -
I wondered if there would be a new tariff today, as the website was closed for maintenance, early this morning.
The E.ON Saver Fixed 1 Year v4 will save me 18p a month opposed to the E.ON Energy Fixed 1 Year v21 tariff.
A saving of £2.06 per annum between the two tariffs.
I don't understand the logic of having two almost identical tariffs? Slightly different worded tariff descriptions, (marketing) which means absolutely nothing, as the only overall difference is, one has exit fees, the other doesn't, neither have rewards, plus one tariff saves me £2.06 per annum.
To me, it's just a would be (failed,) clever marketing attempt, (and E.on now has 3 tariffs.) :rotfl:
PS - Busy day at the office again, Malc?Fred - Where's your get up and go?
Barney - It just got up and went.
