CATZNINE - that is a wonderful photo - obviously, you are both still as happy as you looked then. And, no, I didn't laugh - I just went 'aaaah!' and smiled. Congratulations on a happy anniversary and a happy life!

    Hi all

    Catz - love the photo.

    Welcome FlourGirl.

Patent Girl - glad Harry is mending.

Rzl - result on the fridge freezer. Years ago when we got our FF I had to get the man in to fix the light in the fridge because it didn't go off when we closed the door (no I didn't climb inside to check!! I could tell cos the bulb was always warm) Unfortunately he fixed it so that the light doesn't come on automatically when you open the door. Being young and foolish I accepted that and have lived with it. Believe me a light in your fridge makes such a difference. (mind you it does mean I can't see the dirt quite so clearly, so there are benefits!)

Have any of you seen my glasses prescription. I can't find it anywhere. Since you're in my house every day I thought one of you might have seen it. Or has some one boogied it away in a flylady declutter!

I wanted to get some new specs but I can't find the prescription anywhere. Once I claim my money back from the HSA for these new ones I'm cancelling my membership, there is no way we get back what we pay out from the scheme. Touch wood, we're pretty healthy people. I think I'd be better just putting the money away and then it's in an account when we do need dentists/opticians etc.

Right - off to make gallons of ragu which will be frozen and then become whatever takes my fancy through the weeks. And some of it will feed visitors at the weekend.

Looks like I've managed to get rid of the little cot on freecycle _ did I mention that yesterday? Can't remember. Anyway, it's going and I'm so glad it's off to a good home.

    Take care all

(Sorry for the ramble but DD is asleep and DS is at multiskills so I have a bit of time)

    Hello my OS friends.

I apologise now if i don't make much sense. It's my birthday! And I'm 30! and my naughty naughty workmates have been feeding me wine at lunch time.

    hope you are all ok.

PP-hang in there, you are an inspiration to us all .
dlb purple streaks rock! I used to have short spikey purple hair. Am not allowed it anymore-might frighten the patients.
    BargainRzl-hurrah for new fridges!

had a great time in NYC-some piccies here if you fancy a peek. Camera died at the top of the empire state building, but behaved the rest of the time.

Good afternoon everyone! Beautiful and sunny here with a line full of washing blowing away – will be adding that to the monstrously huge ironing pile which I have promised I will start once I’ve got off here and made my meringues for Saturday’s Eton Mess dessert. Had HM soup fresh from the SC which was really good with some wonderful fresh bread from the BM – DANNA’S list of ingredients worked so well that I am not going to use the one in the manual now. Thanks DANNA – I’m really pleased with how it turned out.:T :T I made the smallest size and it’s perfect for me and DH. House smells lovely! Whilst all that was going on, I made two yoghurt cakes – one cherry flavour and one natural to which I added choc chops and cocoa powder (sorry again SAMSAM,  but they are for my DH really, honest, they are!) I have also made the salad and prepped the chicken and bacon which is marinading in coriander and cumin, and washed the new potatoes. Rhubarb is ready to stew – will add a Bramley’s and some goji berries to it before cooking. The last hour of this was spent with DH – who had to come back from work for something he’d forgotten – asking if I could ‘just’ make up an ad for selling his car to put in the P.O. window! That ‘just’ took ages because he was sat at my shoulder like a goblin watching what I did.  I’ve shown him dozens of times how to ‘work’ the computer and I think he deliberately ‘forgets’ ‘cos it’s so much easier to get me to do it – easier for him, of course! I had to keep checking things in the oven and re-setting the timer and it made me feel really rushed. I nearly took away the ‘present’ I gave him yesterday. Like someone else here – sorry, I can’t remember who – I washed all my microfibres yesterday as well as a load of dusters which I don’t use anymore because I prefer to dust with a damp cloth these days (saves on polish!). Anyway, I went through them and just said to DH ‘you can have all these’ because, TBH, I had about twenty new ones that I didn’t know existed until I turned out my cleaning cupboard. He was so delighted with this pile of cleaning rags it was quite pathetic to see. They were fresh off the line and he folded them really neatly – he said ‘all these – for me?’ Oh, bless! He’s always asking me for cloths for cleaning the car and decorating etc. and usually ends up keeping the same old one for years or ripping up a T-shirt. He’s buying a new drill later and I will be given a full demonstration of it and all the bits that come with it – oh, joy!
DANNA – just been reading the earlier posts – you must slow down! Don’t push yourself! Thanks again for the bread recipe – it was perfect!:T :T
ESSEX-GIRL – poor doggy’s bits! Hope he recovers soon!
CSARINA – hope you have a wonderful time in France next week – I have about another four more weeks before I go; can’t wait!:j :j
DONNY-GAL – glad you’ve bounced back up again! Don’t like to hear of anyone feeling down.:T :T
ELONA – good luck with the dentist! I have a check-up this month – haven’t needed anything doing now for a couple of years so probably time for a filling!
STEFIJIB – my mum has been removing all the packaging at the supermarket for years, now! She does it after she has paid for it and doesn’t hold anyone else up, I promise! My family is quite rebellious! My sister has arthritis so has a disabled permit for parking; she got so fed up with able-bodied people taking up the designated parking spaces, and giving her a mouthful when she politely reminded them who they were for, that she made up some fake tickets and now, every time she comes across a car that does not display the disabled parking permit, she puts one under the windscreen wiper! With any luck, it’ll make them fear the real thing and stop them doing it.  She also does it if she sees someone with no children taking up one of the mother-and-child spaces!
POOKY – hope your tummy is better now.:A :A
PATENTGIRL – (((HUGS))) to Harry! Glad he’s on the mend at last!:T :T
Well, can’t put the ironing off any more or we’ll be going round naked! Seeya!

BusyGirl, sometimes I cheat and chop the veg and whatever else I can prepare the night before, then throw it in the next morning, works well for me.

:hello: Welcome flourgirl (great username!!! :D )

Happy Anniversary Mr & Mrs Catznine :D:D:D The photo is FUNtastic!!!! You both look lovely and sooo … ‘retro’ ;):D Ooh now who does your dh remind me of  … it’ll come to me

    Happy 30th Birthday, Loubee

Woohoo to BR!!! New is *good* :D:D:D Hoping it proves problem free for you.
dannahaz – had you written that before I went out …. I would have been over to yours for lunch – sounds D-lish!
Churchmouse … any chance he can get a hobby so you can enjoy your MSE “hobby”? ;)
mrs mix – well done on getting your paperwork done, especially at such short notice :T
taplady – oooh horseriding!! Used to do that myself years ago :D Hope your thighs don’t scream too much afterwards ;)
catowen – how’s your friend doing in Oz? Hope you’re managing to keep in contact regularly; not quite the same as being near one another I know.
    GR – thank you :D
elona – good luck at the dentists
Ooh Shez! You lucky thing, Barry Cryer is a hoot! Glad you went and had smiles on your face :T
Peem – I’ve had a look but it’s not here  Have you checked in the back of your purse?

Have had a wonderful morning out with the girls in honour of ‘S’s’ birthday; she’s such a sweetie and was so thrilled that we all made it and that we all spoiled her! She’s worth it, has a dreadfully low self esteem and a very negative outlook (thanks to her upbringing) so she was really choked with our cards and gifts.

Took the opportunity to get d12yo’s film developed (1 of 3) of last weeks French trip. Got a Boots ticket from the machine for an extra 150 points on processing, plus the camera I bought meant they replaced the film for free on a 1hr process :j :T :j (bearing in mind I bought the camera reduced initially too :j ) I’ve been extremely well behaved and have resisted the temptation to look at them :naughty: - respecting his right to privacy, after all, they are *his* and he can choose which one’s he wants us to see – knowing him, that will be *all* of them anyway :rotfl:

Went to Mr T’s and bought the recommended shopping list from the Rosemary Conley “Ultimate GI Jeans Diet” (it’s great when it’s all written out for you  ) for the first week of kick start.

Now I’m enjoying a cuppa and a sit down before I have a zip round with the hoover and a flick of the duster. Got some more soda crystals today I’ll get the lads to make up a batch of HM laundry powder later. They seem to be producing laundry likes its going out of fashion!!

Enjoy the rest of your May Day

Catznine, Happy Anniversary, I love your photo. It reminds me of my first wedding day which was 40 years this year. Unfortunately my hubby died 12 years ago but I still quietly remember our special days. It's mine and MrW's 10th anniverary this month.
Flourgirl, you must live near me, I was waving to planes this morning while I had my coffee in the garden. I wish Jet2 would come to Donny although we get some good prices with Thomsonfly. I've just booked flights to Malaga in November, £65 return.
I had a hospital appointment this morning so called to Sainsburys on the way and got fantastic bargains on the fresh meat counter. TTD fillet steak half price also braising steak and rump. The girl told me that Tuesday morning is a good time for reduced fresh stuff.
Hope everyone is having a good day. Hugs to all in need.
