good morning everyone!
Welcome to flourgirl! I love the idea of looking up the planes that are passing overhead. I live under the flightpath to Heathrow so planes are more of a nuisance than a novelty, I might try adopting your attitude next time they are landing overhead.
<hugs> to everyone who can't sleep or who is feeling under the weather.
I'm going to go and read yesterday's thread in a moment to catch up on the news.
I started to read it yesterday but got distracted by the first batch of oven racks that had been soaking overnight in bio washing powder. It worked so well I decided to take the glass out of that oven and the racks out of the other oven and soak them during the day. And then late afternoon, I dealt with those and then did the glass from the second oven and the griddle plates from the hob. I also had to clean the insides of the ovens, the self cleaning programmes were hopeless. I usually get the Ovenu man to do all of this, so I might have saved myself £60 (I think thats what he charged last time for one single oven, one double oven, the hob and the extractor).
In the meantime I spring cleaned my living room (whilst watching Desperate Housewives recorded from the night before), washed the floor, which lead to me going through the kitchen like a tornado, which included emptying and cleaning the fridge. It all looks and smells lovely and clean today, expect that'll last until the end of the week.
Made a gorgeous sourdough bread yesterday as well, and had a slice with my fresh-from-the-garden salad. Heaven! The local farm shop is selling this amazing salad dressing. It's raspberry, balsamic and rosemary, virtually fat free and very few calories. It's delicious. I've been having it on my salad, on my steamed veggies, on my roast veggies.
I have 17 microfibre cloths sitting on the washing line at the moment. They look like blue and cherry pink nappies.
I also managed to slip out to the gym when DH's back was turned. I'd love to go more than three times a week. I can't believe I'm saying that, I'm just not a gym person! I can't do much until my leg stops giving me gyp.
I've been monitoring it closely for symptoms of another clot, but so far it looks OK. When I went to see the GP about it a couple of weeks ago he said that evercise is good, a bit of pain is normal in the circumstances, just don't push it. I'll go back and see him next week though if it's still painful.
Expecting a Donald Russell delivery today, which is going to include some game bird breasts which I'm going ot make into a pie for the weekend. Will finish cleaning the kitchen windows while I'm waiting.
Am planning to NOT do any housework today. Dinner tonight will be salad for me, and fish in batter or fishcakes (not home made *hangs head*) for DH.
Right, off to make my Kefir smoothie and read the rest of today's thread and all of yesterdays.
Love to you all

Morning All
(((hugs))) to those under the weather and to those with little ones not well.
Cant beleive the time already - got caught outside by a neighbour this morning and now am all behind. So far have done the school run, cleaned kitchen and one load of washing in the machine. Kitchen isnt nice to clean at the moment as still not finished but builder should hopefully be back this week or next.
Mainly in my office today then ironing this afternoon to keep on top. Dont mind the office work this morning as although is sunny here the wind is freezing. Cant take puppy out for the next couple of days as yesterday he had his bits chopped off. He is not a happy chappy at the moment, cant settle and keeps wandering round the house crying - feel a little guilty but its for the best in the long run.
Bargain - well done - hope you dont have to wait too long for the replacement.
L - tuna or ham sandwhiches on wholemeal bread, fruit
D - saus, veg mash for others new pots for me.
Have a great day.
Welcome Flourgirl and any other newbies I have missed over the last couple of days.0 -

I am one of the English sexy Shelias
I'm also a hussy0 -
Hi – just a quick dip in and out between chores! I made my day busier than I intended on the cooking front. Ironing is still looking at me – I told it to s*d off but it didn’t! Will try and get SOME done today, if not all! Yeah, right…..!
Have HM soup in the SC – smells delicious. Bread in the BM following one of DANNA’S lists of ingredients! DANNA is my Bread Heroine!! Have prepped rhubarb for pudding – DH really enjoyed it last week so I promised him some more this week. He did such a good job yesterday of washing the kitchen floor and spot-cleaning the dining room carpet which always seems to be grubby – it’s the main walk through to the kitchen from the hall so difficult to keep clean all the time.Lasagna last night was good and the English strawberries for pud were delicious.
Have DS2 and his GF coming round for dinner on Thursday (Lemon Chicken!) and then my DH invited our neighbours over for a meal on Saturday and only told me this morning! I know what dessert will be (notice how I use ‘pud’ when it's just me and DH and dessert when it's for guests!). I’ll make Eton Mess – I know, SAMSAM – not very healthy   especially when made with Barbados Cream! This week’s treat! Haven’t decided yet on the main course for Saturday – might do the Pork Ratatouille I did last week and which so impressed DH! Then, I’ve decided to make two cakes to keep DH going all week with his packed lunches, then I have to make a salad and prepare the bacon and chicken for the stir-fry and by then I’ll be cream-crackered!
SAMSAM – thanks so much for the link to your magazine. It is fantastic – what a lot of work you put into it! I have downloaded it and will have a good read of it when I have a cuppa this afternoon!:T :T
CRAZYCHIK – thanks again for all the advice. When you said 6 out of 8 items sold was a good start – I hadn’t thought of it like that but, really, it is quite good actually! Thanks!:T :A
CATOWEN – hope you are feeling better but make sure you get enough rest!:A :A
TAPLADY – enjoy the horse-riding! That is something I love!:T :j
TWINK - did you know you can tax the car online, now, as long as you have one of the new MOTs which probably all cars will have by now? I’ve taxed online a couple of times and it really saves time queueing at the P.O. Tax disc arrives within the week!:j :j
MRSMIX – what is it with these men and paperwork? Mine is exactly the same – I’m always having to stop what I’m doing to sort his out and, as he hasn’t a clue how to use the computer, I can’t tell him to do it himself (politely, of course!).
CHURCHMOUSE – along the same lines as my post re MRSMIX – I always feel I have to limit the amount of time I spend on here when he’s around! They don’t understand how much we need it, do they? I have taken to reminding mine that we have saved money and time by all that I have learned on here, so there!:j :j
FLOURGIRL – welcome – I just know you’ll enjoy it here!:hello:
CATZNINE – Happy Anniversary! Your card sounds lovely; have a wonderful day! Re what to make with plastic carrier bags; knit another bag with them!:j :j
RCHDDAP1 – so glad that the hospital visit went well for LO and good luck with the house situation. Keep us posted.:T :A
Well, best get on now. I’m sure I just heard the ironing say ‘Oi! You ain’t done me yet, right?’! I’ll get me coat, then! Hope you all have a good morning and will look in again after lunch I expect. :beer:KNIT YOUR SQUARE TOTALS:

Morning all, and a nice bright morning it is too, the tree outside is my indicator and its swaying gently in the breeze........
Pressure cooker on with the lamb bone, soup mix, onion, carrot, garlic and tomato puree in, so I guess it will be soup for lunch.
At Mr T's last week I bought a piece of leg of pork for £2.58, it is now sitting on my chopping board ready to go into the PC for casserole pork.......enough for 3 dinners me thinks............I am taking one lot to france, will get a bottle of their lovely haricot vert beans to go into it when I reheat it..yummy.....this time next week we should be well on the way to Dover, plan to leave here at 7am, if we get there early might just get an earlier boat..........so time to visit Auchan and have a reccy............
OH is out, sitting room is still tidy as he was out for most of yesterday, am trying to keep him under control, but its not easy, place looks tidy and then suddenly it looks like a whirlwind has gone through the place.
Did not have quite such a good night last night, but cannot grumble, if I woke I went more or less back to sleep straight away............
Had a quick look at my Bank statement..gulp.......and it will get worse, still waiting for the bill from severn trent, and also notifiaction about the rent now the HB people have been at our finances...........have a feeling I am going to have to pay around £375 before we go away...........and then we have to arrange to pay back what they say we owe them............ oh well its only money. When we get back from this break I will be OSing with a vengance, I need to pay the OD as quick as possible. I know when I go into the bank they will try to get me to take out a loan, but the interest is lower on my OD and I do not want to be tied in for 3 years to a loan thats going to cost me oceans............
Right time to go, I have the urge to make a coffee gateaux, still trying out the new oven, not used to electric having had a gas one for the last 7 years. The apartments are all electric........I dread to think what will happen if we have a power cut.............we do have a small picnic stove, but that will not keep us warm, the heating comes fron a central boiler and is pumped by???? electric......there are some quite vulnerable people in this complex.........
See y'all later....................Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.0 -
Hello again,
HAPPY ANNIVERSARY CATZINE
dlb - i dyed my hair 'vivid violet' last week - its lovely, so im sure yours will look great!!!
Well, just taken some junk from the shed to the dump, dropped DSs bike off at the bike shop (needs new tyres but i have a horrible feeling they are going to condem it, so he will need a new bike (they are doing a safety check as well)) and got 2 new tyres for my car (£77:eek: ) but they were bald, so def needed doing. Im now finishing my cuppa (and rich tea biscuits) before we head off to collect the other LO from nursery. We were good again this morning and walked to and from school, we will be walking in a mo, and also this afternoon - im determind to keep fit this year, and not rely on the car:j .
Right, going to play with LO,
Take care xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx0 -
Hi Flourgirl we do have a lovely day here. Me OS, well I am trying after being a full time working wife/mum for 30+ years!
Shame Thomsonfly have spoilt our airport by being awful at keeping to schedule and put the prices oot! We need Ryanair/Jet2/Easyjet to have more flights from here.
My spirits have bounced again now, luckily they never stay down long.
How is the LO Smoky? You are right to get get a checkup.
Glad to hear Lily was a typical LO rchddap1 sleep when you want them awake, and vice versa.
Happy Anniversary Catzine my DH is our garden labourer too, but now trying to take over and "thinks" he knows more than I do
Take care all

Have three machine loads on the line outside - normal day in this house!
Dishes have been washed and need to go to dentist this afternoon.
Trying to decide wether to make egg fried rice or home made carrot and coriander soup. Might make the rice to use up the mushrooms in the fridge.
Getting a new gas fire put in in Friday - the last one was 18 years old so we have had our money's worth from it. DH got a shock when he found out the price - but it is cast iron and perfect for an Edwardian house.
Was going to York to buy train tickets for DD and a friend but decided to do this tomorrow so I do not risk being late for the dentist this afernoon.
hugs to everyone - especially pennypincher."This site is addictive!"
Wooligan 2 squares for smoky - 3 squares for HTA
