Great 'Work in a bank? What should we know' Hunt

Perhaps your time would be better spent behind an additional counter, that would really be productive, instead of walking the queue, just annoying people.
How do you know that isn't happening whilst the queue is being walked?
For the record, whilst that is happening, there is a full counter, someone on reception and 2 people on Enquiries.
Earlier you mentioned we should do something to reduce queues - well this is one way and it works pretty effectively.
Now you're saying we should stand behind an additional counter? And do what? - smile and wave and the people in the queue?
Make your mind up. :rolleyes:Anything that I do say, is strictly my opinion

Nope, sit at the counter and serve customers instead of getting on their nerves.
Say for instance, 3 cashiers as opposed to 2 will soon reduce queue's surely.0 -

Have you tried to upgrade before? Was there a reason for having the cash account?
The reason i have a cash account is that i have a CCJ against me....I did apply for the premier account but got a STEP account instead.
I have been running the account in good order for about 8 months now and would like a cheque book to make things easier for me.
Will they wait until the CCJ fails off my record ( another 18 months ) or will they look OK at my account history and say hes OK...

I avoid banks that have people "que walking"
Makes me feel awkward if someone is trying to tell me to do my banking an easier or other way.

I suspect that it does most people Darren, tho' they still insist that they ( the banks ) know what is best for us. :rolleyes:0 -
well from my experience not a lot of people like "que walkers"
I've seen a few people removed from a que and shown how to use a fast deposit machine for there cash or chq's.
anybody have experience of que walkers ?

Like I said before, full counter (that's more than 3 btw) , 2 people on enquiries, 1 on reception and 1 walking the queue. There is no other way to reduce the queues apart from using other payment methods to pay for bills.
Most people don't even know there is a Quick Deposit service - it is there for a reason.
No-one is telling you how to do your banking - heck we even get people who'll politely decline the use of other services and would like to wait.
It's because you're either snobbish, or you don't like changing your ways and looking at other options.Anything that I do say, is strictly my opinion

Inactive may I say you seem very ignorant and out of touch with todays society. I guess you are still all for the 'traditional bank manager' opening accounts, which of course must be a man.
At the end of the day we employ enough staff as I am sure many other bank staff members will tell you to support counter queries, but as well as this we offer machines to cater for people that simply do not want to queue, and deal with their transactions themselves which is all well and good, as we offer CHOICE.
For the most part from my experience the use of 'queue walking', seems to be an effective way of servicing customers needs and offering a service for customers to deal with transactions themselves rather than having to wait and speak to a Cashier.
Why do I queue walk rather than hop on a counter myself? Well because I am not employed as a Cashier and while I do not have appointments I will always help by servicing customers as best I can, rather than just leaving them be, letting them queue subsequently wasting time. Though I dont really see why I should be justifying my job role to you...Personal Banker at Barclays0 -

Nobody asked you to..
You obviously take the Banks " brain washed " view, that you know what is best for customers, well clearly from feedback on this site, you are wrong in many cases.
I can assure you that I am not " out of touch with todays society ", I just do not like some jumped up bank cashier telling me what is best for my needs.0 -

There certainly is, open more cashier points, simple.
No brainer really.0
