BTW, are all of the banks closed today?

There are a lot of bank staff on here today, obviously they cannot all be on holiday, can they?;)

anybody have experience of que walkers ?

Oh yes. After (once only) paying my cheque in via the deposit box when suggested, I found out that rather than the cheque going in that day as it would have had I remained in the queue, it took a couple of days to appear on my statement.

And only about 1/2 the 10 or so counters were open at the time. The queue walker would certainly, in this case, be better serving customers if they were at a counter.
    Conjugating the verb 'to be":
-o I am humble -o You are attention seeking -o She is Nadine Dorries

However, as Lokolo said above, it depends on what sort of box you put it in. I assume you used one of the old fashioned ones where you write it on an envelope. But banks that have a machine in them will put cash/cheques into your account while you are standing there.

Also gives your a receipt which has the cheques and paying slips printed on :)

Why can't they? There is more than one bank ya know, with more than 1 branch

Personally, I'm just taking some time back this week so will not be posting as much next week.

    Is that ok?

It would have taken a couple of days anyway, unless it was a house cheque.

does that cover YOUR contents as well as the building? If so i would suggest you either, still live at home, have a generous landlord/landlady or your partner owns the property?

It is not for any bank employee to tell their customers how to conduct their own affairs, tho' I know a lot of them think it is.

I'll join the large group of people who disagree with virtually everything you say.

Why you see a problem with offering other options is beyond me. You're the one using the word 'tell'.

Precisely. Nobody has TOLD anyone to do anything. It's a suggestion. It's my personal view, and my view alone, that those people who refuse that suggestion in favour of standing around doing nothing and waiting to do much the same thing are idiotic.
