  • Lost another 1lb this week, which is about right for me. Like turning an ocean going liner around, it takes a while. Not unhappy, scales going in right direction. Will continue in same vein this week.

Wishing all 10 week challengers a good week.
  • Hi All

Another week down and another 2lbs lost, so thats 1 stone lost in total so far - very happy with that. My next milestone is to get below 10st because I haven't been below 10st in years!!!! Fingers crossed with a bit of extra exercise this week I might be able to do it this week. If not, I can wait 2 weeks to get there :) Still on tract to hit my target by March 17th, so I'm happy.

  • Well done everyone, looks like the lbs are slowly dropping off! Wantahouse you are doing amazingly well!

Spending tonight planning my running program, as I have a bit of a tight hamstring from my matches at the weekend and training tomorrow night so running due to start on Wednesday. Hopefully by telling you all I will stay motivated to go!

Working on a 10k in 13weeks- 5weeks of clocking some miles - at the moment I run 3-4 miles every now and again so aiming 3-4 miles 3 times a week for 5 weeks. Then following a 10k plan for 8 weeks, then a more advanced 10k plan for 8 weeks, then a half marathon plan for 12 weeks and half marathon in October.

Feels a bit insurmountable at the moment as it's a long term plan but hoping by running a couple of 10ks in between I can keep motivated!

There's some brilliant advice and great support oozing from this forum - thanks for that folks! Can I ask for your opinions on something?

I have a male cousin who's in his mid-50s, been classified as super obese with a BMI of over 50, and is in fairly poor health generally. Sleep apnoea and other weight related conditions aren't helping.

He and his wife have both started calorie controlled diets in the past two weeks and he has lost 21lbs so far. Now, I know he has a lot to lose but to me, even at his weight - and I will admit I don't know for sure - but it's got to be in excess of 30 stone, losing nearly 2 stone in two weeks seems like loads.

The reason I ask for your opinion is that he's feeling unwell and can't work out why! I think it's to do with the rapid weight loss. What do you think?

Thanks in advance to you all.

Luton girl, I'll be honest I wouldn't think it was healthy o, although to be fair I've lost 10 lb in a short space myself and I was a bit concerned about that, I wa half his weight so maybe losing that much is normal? How many calories is he taking? The problems he has we're they there before he started dieting ?

When you start to loose weight as well it is often common to not feel great, if your going sugar free for instance you will have the withdrawal associated with that, If your going caffeine free then that also has an effect on your health.... Every individual is different

21 lbs is an enormous weight-loss in two weeks. I would be very concerned. Is this all under medical supervision? If not, he should see his doctor without delay.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

Was at my daughter's and didn't get weighed this morning. I'll have a look tomorrow. Expect I've actually put weight on this week as I've been naughty. Treated out Wednesday and went up The Shard (not worth £25 IMHO) and my son in law has plied me with wine and single malts since Tuesday.
