Hello Pap! I'm ok, just been feeling a bit fed up and haven't had a lot to say.
I'm managing not to overspend (much), apart from having to replace some boots that literally fell apart (but got some lovely ones in a sale, which have rapidly become my favourite footwear).
The kids break up for Easter tomorrow, and while I'm working through the holidays, I am SO looking forward to our little weekend break in York in a fortnight's time.

A few things ... Donut place ... Tell me more .. Rocky horror .. Welllll? And sorry to hear your down ... It always sucks when that happens but it's not forever ( although I'm sure sometimes it must feel that way) ... In the meantime ... To cheer us all up you understand ... Tell me about rocky ...0

There's a Krispy Kreme doughnut place that has just opened in Edinburgh, although I haven't been because I'm not a big fan. I like ring doughnuts, when they're freshly made and still warm, and bf laughs at me because I like Sainsbury's custard doughnuts (he thinks they are revolting!), but I don't like icing/glazing etc.
Rocky was great! I used to go quite often (when I was in my 20s), but haven't been to see it for many years. I had only heard of two of the cast (Roxanne Pallet, who I think was in Emmerdale, although I have never actually watched a full episode, despite my 'Yorkshire farming town' background
, and Philip Franks, who was Charley in Darling Buds of May).
I have had a (slightly weird) mild crush on Philip Franks for years, and seeing him looking older and sexier hasn't done much to dampen it! :rotfl:
It was a good production, I thought. Some of the singing was VERY good (some less so, but still competent enough). I thought the guy playing Frank was rather 'Priscilla - Queen of the Desert', so was amused to read that he had previously been in that. Many years ago, I would have objected to Frank being played that way, but I actually felt it worked quite well.
We had a fun evening, I drank too much wine, I wore a silly costume, it was good.
The fed-upness isn't really for any particular reason, I don't think. Just being slightly under the weather, busy, tired and a touch of pmt.
As you rightly say, it will pass. Some sunshine would help my mood, but I'm not holding out much hope for the next couple of weeks!! Brrr! I have developed a highly unscientific, Gillian McKeith-esque conviction that eating a banana a day (even though I really dislike them), having a helping of Marmite and chasing the sun around for the vitamin D creates a mix of vitamins that make me feel happier. If I'm a bit low I find trying to get out of the office at lunchtimes and finding a bright patch if possible really helps. I live in Manchester so trust me, I'm not exactly rolling in sunny spells either.
But as others have said, we all know low periods come and go. You're doing really well with your budgeting.Barclaycard [STRIKE] £2770 [/STRIKE] now £2690.
O/D £500. Weight loss: 12/28lbs
Savings owed [STRIKE] £3000 [/STRIKE] now £2250
Total debt: [STRIKE] £6760 [/STRIKE] now £54400 -

Aww Snaggs, sorry to push your diary to the top if you didn't want to post. I think its that time of the year where everyone just wants the clocks to go forward and to have more daylight! I hope things can slow down for you this coming month although with the children off I am not sure that will happen!0 -
I think you saw the same production as me snags ... Yep it was very good, we laughed the night away ( just what we needed to be honest as mr el was kinda down )
Add to the banan marmite mix some cashew nuts and some Brazil nuts an your gonna be doing good
I have a confession to make, I havn't heard of Krispy Kreme except as a topping for some McDonalds type desert ( it may not even be McDonald's for all I know)0 -
Well, I like bananas, Marmite, sunshine, cashews and brazil nuts, so even if they are doing me no good at all, I will enjoy giving them a try!

Pap, don't be silly, it was lovely to hear from you. I just hadn't been feeling like I had anything remotely interesting to report. I still don't really, but that's never stopped me before!
Daughter had her dance show yesterday, and loved it. I spend 50p on a programme, and signed up to buy a copy of the dvd, which is £10 but as most of our family is so far away, and never get chance to see her do anything like this, I thought it was worth it. She can't wait to show her grandma and grandad how well she did. :A
The kids have broken up for Easter now (which seems to be a week earlier than most English schools, from what I can tell, but I guess they vary). We haven't got much of anything planned, as both bf and I are working, which means extra childcare for the next fortnight.
I HAD allowed for this in my budget, but having bought new boots, it will be touch and go now.
I think it should be ok, as long as I don't get tempted to go shopping in the next 3 weeks.
I do need to buy a new meat thermometer though, as apparently you shouldn't put things containing batteries in the dishwasher. Who knew?!
I *think* bf has forgiven me! In fact, he wasn't actually cross, just bemused that I would do such a thing!
Oops!
They seem to be about £10 everywhere I look. Would it be out of order to give him one for his birthday? :rotfl:I'm a Money and Debt Adviser for a homelessness and housing charity in Scotland. Happy Easter!
I have had such a nice weekend. My parents came up for a visit, and on Saturday they looked after the kids, so lovely bf could take me out for a meal. It was delicious! We had mussels in white wine, shallot and cream sauce, crab and prawn linguine and peach and raspberry crumble. The waiter was fretting because they had run out of pasta, and it took them about 15 minutes to make some more...bless him. We didn't mind at all, as we were sitting and chatting, while enjoying some lovely wine, and when it did arrive, the pasta was beautiful.
I cannot wait until I can afford to take him out. He is so good to me.
This morning, I hid some mini cream eggs and Lindor eggs around the house, so they could hunt for them and eventually find their actual Easter eggs (which were £1 each...I am a cheapskate... :rotfl: ). Even the eldest thought this was great fun.
Now I am relaxing, browsing and adding my CDs to my iTunes while bf plays the guitar, and later we are having Chinese food. I may be struggling to fit into my clothes next week but...oh well!I'm a Money and Debt Adviser for a homelessness and housing charity in Scotland.
