Thanks El. I am definitely very glad I had the extra money this month, or I would have been really struggling by now.

Hi Other El. :D Last time we went down, we squatted at my old house, but bf's back doesn't cope very well with camp beds, and as we will have two full days to ourselves, we are thinking of it as a sort of holiday. We rarely get time without the kids, which...I know....is par for the course when you're a parent. But Ben has only been a 'father' for 6 months, so I feel like I should make sure he gets time out. Not having family nearby means we don't have babysitters, so even the odd meal out together takes months of pre-planning.

I should just ask him to pay really, because he would, but I'd feel ridiculous asking him for money to pay for a trip that is only happening so the kids can visit their dad. :o

Maybe I'm too proud, I dunno.

I don't know if anyone remembers that a couple of years ago, my sister had a baby who had toxoplasmosis and they weren't sure she would survive? She did, and she's amazing and beautiful, but has been officially diagnosed with !!!!!! cerebral palsy today. The diagnosis isn't a surprising one, as it has been suspected since before she was even born, but still, getting the diagnosis isn't easy for any of them.

Anyway, off topic really but I just wanted to tell someone. :o:(

Thanks Taxi. Those weeks where life seems to be ganging up on you are hard, aren't they?! Very glad it's the weekend. :)

Even more glad that we don't appear to have much planned and can relaaaax!

In case I haven't spent enough money recently though, after having paid for my daughter's dance show costumes (£12, and she doesn't get to keep them - that's just to wear them for one performance), they have now emailed to say she needs a specific t-shirt (£5), some tan tights (don't know how much but for her size I'll have to buy them from the dance shop) and....they are going to send out a list of other items the kids will need for their costumes. :wall:

You have to laugh really. :)

Ouch to the cost of the dance outfits! I remember my friend at school doing dancing and her mum was always wiped out by it. Think our baby will do gymnastics - if she likes it, not that it's any cheaper!

Sorry to hear about your niece but a confirmed diagnosis can open doors to a lot more help
