Hellooo!
We have just got back from our mini break in York, and despite a rather unpleasant time the week before we went, it was absolutely lovely.
The wind was still rather wintery at times, but when it dropped, it was pleasantly spring like. The B&B was a fantastic find, and we will definitely stay there again. All in all, I feel like it has done me/us a lot of good.
Back to reality now though! Five hours of driving to get home, and in about an hour, the prospect of taking bf to his choir rehearsal and braving the supermarket with two tired kids in tow.
After that though, it will be time for a bath and an early night. :T
How is everyone doing? Claree, I don't really understand why people are so excited about the donuts either really! Maybe I will take some with me next time I go to Glasgow and try to make a profit. :rotfl:I'm a Money and Debt Adviser for a homelessness and housing charity in Scotland. break away sounds lovely..York is lovely0

Hmm, maybe I'll give up on a career in donut reselling then. My sales pitch is a bit off.

York really is lovely. We stayed in the Fulford area, which was very pretty. We were in the eaves of the B&B, but the room wasn't pokey; just cute, light and airy. We met bf's sister, who is so much fun, we went out for meals, we walked for miiiiles (actually it was probably only about 10 in total, but it felt like more :rotfl: ). Considering it cost very little (petrol and a B&B booked through Laterooms), it was fantastic, much needed and very welcome.
I was on the verge of needing to increase my antidepressants last week, because a few horrible things happened at once and I really wasn't coping, but I feel quite stable and well again at the moment.I'm a Money and Debt Adviser for a homelessness and housing charity in Scotland. a break does you good0

We have decided that following our break, we should have a 'week of being healthy', starting on Saturday. A quick look in the freezer tells me we have some chicken and some prawns, the cupboards contain various items including two cans of tuna, and we have enough rice/pasta/pulses to see us through until Christmas. We have apples, carrots and potatoes, but are sadly lacking in other vitamin-imparting foods, so I think a small shop will suffice.
Meals planned so far are: piri piri chicken, prawn and courgette curry, tuna pasta bake, vegetarian chilli, baked salmon, boiled potatoes and green veg and...whatever else I can manage to throw together (or whatever I can persuade bf to cook, as he is far better at it than I am).
I may even decide to avoid wine for the week, but that will depend on stress levels!

Shhh, but I think spring might actually be here!
It was cold but bright this morning, and it *looks* like a proper spring evening outside at the moment (but is rather chilly!).
I can feel my overall mood improving with the weather, despite my usual coldsores-and-blistered-skin reaction to the first sun of the year. Sigh.
Today was spent at meetings in Dundee, in what may well be the hottest office in Scotland. I actually thought I was going to melt! I learned lots of useful things about the forthcoming bankruptcy reforms (in Scotland) though, and had chance to volunteer myself for various jobs I suspect I will live to regret. :rotfl:
After a 6am start this morning, I am definitely planning an early night.
In DFW news though, lunch was provided at one of the meetings and I am too full for dinner. Result! :TI'm a Money and Debt Adviser for a homelessness and housing charity in Scotland.
