VS74 Orlando to Manchester 7th June 2013
My court date in Rotherham has been adjourned and transferred to Horsham.....
How many other people in same position ?0 -
Hi, this is a long shot. June 2010 from Orlando to Manchester. We were waiting to board when one of the loading vehicles damaged the plane so that the luggage hold could not be shut. They had to fly both the part and mechanic in to fix it. Initially we were given food vouchers and eventually taken to a hotel for the night. However our luggage was not returned to us until we landed in Manchester, so many people had no change of clothes. We were delayed 24 hours. Will they simply class this as technical problems beyond their control?
Many thanks.
Hi there. did you have any success with this. I am thinking of registering a claim for this flight. Ironically almost 3 years to the day we had a 24 hour delay this year. Claiming separately for that and have a court date set.
thanks0 -
Rob, no news on my case being transferred. I'm still down for Wakefield on 17th January, if we all get moved to Horsham we need to get something sorted, assume same judge will listen to all cases so first decision will be same for all cases!0

Yes, we are one of the Durham cases that have been transferred to Horsham in Feb. But this is not to hear the case - its simply to determine how many other people are claiming for the same flight!!!!0

I too have been transferred at the very last minute (the day I submitted my bundle and paid my fees), two weeks prior to my hearing in Newcastle. I am in the process of seeking confirmation from Horsham County Court that I can add my family to my claim. I am then with the others waiting to see where the case will be heard for this flight. I suspect we have a long way to go yet!0

I have had my court through on the 21st Nov stating that mine is at Wigan at the moment.0

What is the justification for the move to Horsham?0

VS27 October 12th 2008 Gatwick-Orlando
I have a mediation call booked for January 22nd, and also have a court hearing for March 13th. In the meantime (before december 30th) I have to prepare for the hearing and pay £165 hearing fee.
The defence admits the delay, but no compensation as the flight was cancelled due to EC which could have not been avoided (damage to landing gear discovered during pre-departure checks).
I have read the whole of this thread and not found anyone else claiming on my flight. Would be interested if there is anyone browsing this thread who is claiming so we can join forces.0 -
You can't 'join forces'. Each claim has to be made individually.
Read up and print off the relevant laws/rules/regulations from the links in the FAQ's and present your case as such.0 -

But, if there were enough of you, you might be able to negotiate a discount with a no win no fee lawyer. Just saying - it does no harm to ask.
Also, joining forces to share the work/compare airline response, etc., is no bad idea - providing you don't end up doing it all like I am doing for my party!0
