I travelled as part of a group of 11 to Berlin in March and endured a 7 hour delay 'Technical fault' according to Easyjet, I followed the advice on this website by using the template letter and successfully claimed back £438 (500 euros) for both myself and my partner, we had booked separately to the main group and our combined flight cost had only been about £110, it only took around 3 weeks to sort out. My biggest tip is to photograph the flight monitor in the airport showing your delayed flight and send it with your claim, the easiest way is to email everything to them forget snail mail.:j0

Unfortunately ours (strikes) comes under the exceptional circs which means we can't claim0 -
Hi
Our flight was delayed by 7.5 hours a few months ago - allegedly due to snow. However we know - because the captain told us on the intercom - that the plane should have been pretty much on time despite the weather, but they had been asked to fly additionally to Rome that day 'to help out their colleagues in Italy'.
Yes it was a bad weather day, but all other Easyjet flights left with only small delays. We believe that our flight was delayed for operational reasons.
Easyjet are refusing the claim. The CAA cannot help me because Geneva is not in the EU. The Swiss authority is only interested in fining the airline if the law has been breached, but will not help me with my claim.
It seems like we have been abandoned by this system - and I suspect Easyjet knew this (hence they upset the passengers from Geneva not Rome, and the snow is just a handy excuse).
Two questions:
1. Does this mean that effectively passengers from Switzerland are denied the same rights, even when the destination is a UK country?
2. How can I pursue this now. The Swiss authorities say its up to me personally to take Easyjet to court. Does any one have any ideas or want to join me?0 -
I have had a flight from Belfast to Luton cancelled this morning, due to strike action by French air traffic control. I know strike counts as exceptional circumstances, but does it in this instance, where it would not directly affect this routing, but probably may have affected an earlier flight by the scheduled aircraft?0

The chances are what I need to do is covered in the fantastic FAQs and articles on this, but sometimes I like the person touch to make sure I've got things right
I flew with EasyJet from Gatwick- Rome Fiumicino today and was delayed for about 5'45". The total delay was known early doors (about 1'30" before scheduled departure) and it was attributed to a technical fault (the intended plane was kept on the ground in Rome, delaying a flight in, where the plane then became my flight, if that makes sense).
When I first saw the length of the delay, I went to the advice desk to make sure it was right; it was, and I was issued with a £3 refreshments voucher. I didn't receive any other vouchers.
Am I entitled to make a claim? If so, what sort of amount would I be claiming for?0 -

Hi, our flight earlier this week from Faro was initially rescheduled by several hours due to the French strike. At close to midnight we were told that the strike had been called off and the take off was rescheduled for half past midnight. At 12.10am they announced that the flight was cancelled as the crew had used their hours up and could not proceed. It was rescheduled for later in the morning at 10.15am.
Easyjet has emailed us apologising for the cancellation due to the strike action.
It was clear during their final announcement the problem was crew hours not the strike - which was called off for the 3rd day.
I would like to file for compensation given that Easyjet should have been adequately resourced to provide the service however from the email citing the strike I already feel some resistance. With the communication problems that seem to accompany any flight alteration passenger treatment was shambolic and unimpressive.
What would be your thoughts? Thanks0 -
IMO, no chance, sorry.0
