  • 3 of us were delayed 4 hours, from palma to manchester in march 2013. They say in there letter back to me that it was delayed for Technical reasons outside our reasonable control.
The aeroplane on the way out to palma was reversed into by a vehicle carrying water, it was all over the manchester evening news. I got an email apologising from easyjet the next day. Should I take them to court

No, firstly make a claim from them direct as EJ are one of the better airlines. Only if they refuse to pay out after an NBA should you consider going to Court.

I've gone round in a few circles reading things on here and on Easyjets website so thought I would just ask..

Our flight from lamezia (Italy) to Milan and Milan to Gatwick on Tuesday (14/5) was cancelled due to a ground crew industrial action in Milan.. Easyjet couldn't book us onto the same flights until today which we couldnt take as we needed to get home so they allowed us to cancel the Lamezia to Milan leg and have refunded and we swapped to flying from Rome to Gatwick instead and completed a 7 hour drive up italy.

Will easyjet let us claim back the additional car hire (we ran into another day because of dropping it later in the day in Rome than we would have in lamezia) and the fuel for this journey or are they likely to say it was our choice to change departure airports? Does industrial action mean that we can't claim compensation?

    Thanks for your help!

Yes give them the chance to stump up, dont think they can hide behind technical reasons on this one, especially if the water carrier was servicing their aircraft. Agents should be under the control of the airline. I have a similar claim against TC, am thinking of using Sturgeon para 68. Cant say It has met with much support on this board, however it does give the airline the right to claim compensation back from offending third parties, after the airline has paid the passenger in the first place. Welcome any feedback .

    Hi,

Easyjet flight due to depart for UK from non-EU country. Whilst taxi-ing flames appeared from one engine and the taxi-ing was stopped and we were returned to air bridge.

Easyjet provided accommodation and refreshments for the 30 hours we were delayed.

However, on submitting a claim for compensation it was refused claiming an extraordinary circumstance that had been confirmed by the CAA.

Have asked Easyjet to detail exactly what the extraordinary circumstance was but they have, so far, refused to detail. Been fighting this for over 2 years now.

What can I do to bring this to a head, OR are they correct to claim extraordinary circumstance?

    Thanks.

To bring this to a head you take it court. What else did you want to know?

Do I have a case that I can win?

Are they right that it is an extraordinary circumstance?
