I just wanted to canvas opinion on whether my offer of compensation from easyjet is fair before I accept.... Although what I will say is they have turned my claim round in approx 10 days!!!

On 13th Sept 2008 we were delayed leaving manchester for Tenerife by an hour.

Once in the air and two hours into the flight we were told problem with air craft and needed to turn round as no team to fix at Tenerife airport.

Plane returned to gatwick where we were told we would board another flight and continue our journey but no we were sent to a nearby hotel after much waiting and told we would be picked up around 430am the following morning.

The upshot is we should have arrived in Tenerife around 8pm on the 13th Sept and instead arrived approx midday on the 14th.

I've been offered €400 today should I accept?
    Hi Clayton79

We were on the same flight a week earlier which was cancelled completely and had to fly from Gatwick at 7 am the following morning after having got there under our own steam.

Then we were due to fly back on your delayed flight the following week and instead of flying back on Saturday evening flew back at approx. 1 pm on the Sunday.

We don't have any flight numbers or booking references do you think we will still be able to claim? What was your flight no. please.

    Thanks in anticipation.

We had our flight to Cyprus from Manchester delayed for 3 hrs due to radar failure in Greece, the flight was then cancelled as the crew had not enough flying hours. We were bused to a hotel and flew the next day from Gatwick. I can understand that the initial delay was beyond Easyjets control however in my mind the reason for cancelling the flight was down to Easyjet as they did not provide a standby crew. I have have had the standard letter from Easyjet rejecting my claim as they are circumstances beyond there control. I would appreciate your thoughts.

Well I've drafted up my complaint letter for two flights, one from 2007 delayed 5 hours and one from 2010 delayed 3 hours. Will update to say how I get on...

Gordies, I think even I would regard a flaming engine as EC, HOWEVER a 30 delay without good reason is unacceptable.

OK, any tips on how to word this with the excessive delay? I am not letting them get away with this, but want to be as accurate as possible fighting this.

    thanks for any help

  • I booked flights for my husband and 4 friends to Prague for the Easter weekend, costing £600.00 in total. The return flight to Bristol was delayed by 4 hours due to technical fault.
I followed the step by step instructions on this website and sent a claim to Easyjet, I received a reply within 4 weeks to agree to 250 euros per person compensation and had to get the passengers to sign a further claim form to authorise the refund. All in all, the process took around 6 weeks and we then receives a refund of £1097 back onto our payment card. I now have 5 very happy chaps who are amazed to receive back more than they paid for the original flights. Thanks so much for the excellent advice on this site, i would highly recommend people to make their claim using this site. :A
  • Hi, my easy jet flight was cancelled and I was given a free transfer to the flight 3.5 hours later am I entitled to claim anything? The flight was cancelled due to a French strike?!?
  • My flight was cancelled also today but can't get a flight until Thursday. I don't think we can Annenorth from looking on the CAA website as its exceptional circumstance and out of easy jets hands that there was a French strike
