2.5 or 3.5 hours, yes it does matter. 2.5 hours - no valid claim.
If you haven't read FAQs, that is a starting point, but there is a long way to go and much effort required over and above that.
People won't play the game with you if you don't know the rules, sorry.:DIf you're new. read The FAQ and Vauban's Guide

look I have obviously rubbed a few long standing posters up the wrong way here.
1. If I knew how long many flight was delayed for I would not have requested in my original post help , me thinking as the this thread was about Easyjet there might be fellow travellers who were on the same flight who just might be able to recall how long the delay was for.
2. Centepede responded with a question as why if I was booked on the flight did I not know how long the delay was for ?
reasonable but not a helpful response I mean why bother giving people a link to a website whereby you can you check delay times if we should all know this basic info. did not find this to be a civil question.
3. Grammer is not my strong point but thought this site was about people helping each other not checking their English qualifications.
4. Do not understand how I am being ignorant I read the FAQ tried the flight website as per my original post asked a perfectly simple question on the correct thread . I know that if my delay is less than three hours it is a no go .
So was not looking for a quick fix just an answer to a question ?
which resulted in the forum police getting involved .
anyway my flight was delayed for 3hours and fourty minutes so I will proceed with my claim .
So once again thanks0 -
I also sent the template letter to easyjet after flight to spain was delayed 4 hrs 57 mins (easyjet txt me this figure). Sent the letter recorded delivery to Luton Hq and received we the full 400 euros each within 4weeks. Date of flight being 13/4/13. I didnt feel comfortable with it really, as in the long term flight prices we have to increase to pay for the compensation claims. But hey ho summer paid for.....0

Hi, my flight from London Gatwick to Malaga was canceled last wednesday. Next day I received e-mail that the reason of the cancellation was French air traffic control strike. And that would mean I will not get refund. But now when I checked with Flightstats then this day from Gatwick to Malaga all the flights of British Airways, Monarch Airlines and Norwegian were not canceled. And also only 2 of 5 easyJet flight were cancelled. What do you think should I still ask refund? Because it seems that the French strike didn't affect all the other flights.0

easyJet changed my flight for two days later from the original flight because all the flights between the original and new flight were booked. So I got to Malaga two days later.0 -
Wondering if anyone could give me some advice? I travelled back from Venice to gatwick today and was delayed by about 2.5 hours this was due to weather and then there was an emergency landing the airport had to deal with, all understandable. Staff served us beverages but we had to pay! and only become complementary when we became airborne.
We live in South Wales and missed our connecting train due to the flight delay so our train tickets where no longer valid and to top it all we don't own credit cards or had the necessary funds to purchase new tickets (£306). I was advised by the staff on the plane that I could get a letter from the customer service desk in gatwick to show the train company, when I found the 'Easyjet' desk it was staffed by rude, inconsiderate staff who in fact not Easyjet staff. Anyhow my 70 year old mother & 50 year old sister both type 1 diabetes where stranded in London waiting for my husband to pick us up - I still haven't go home yet!
Rant over! Can anyone advise me what to do about this awful situation that Easyjet have left us with, no customer care at all.0 -
If you were delayed by less than three hours, and the delay was caused by weather, you have no right to statutory compensation, unfortunately. It seems like your main problems/expenses were caused by your onward journey from London - and these are not expenses, I think, that would ordinarily fall to the airline in any case. I don't understand why you could you not have bought new train tickets and claimed the cost back from your travel insurance?
Sorry that this isn't the advice you want to hear - I can quite appreciate that it will have been a difficult trip home.0
