    If Bott and Co say you are due compensation then you probably are, especially as it is two years since the delay and they will have had time to accumulate data in their database on that flight.

    I had two claims with Bott and Co which they dropped last year and the flights still comes up as eligible for compensation on their flight checker. I doubt they ever update their database TBH, at least not in a way which the flight checker reflects.

    You are quite correct, they’ve also dropped one of mine, but tbh I’d rather they waste their time and effort pursuing a dead end case than my own.

    EDIT - I should add the above comment refers to my case and not the OPs in this thread.;)

  • Just to update and say thanks; I was on an EasyJet flight from Keflavik in February that suffered a 5 hour delay.

    EasyJet gave no less than 5 different reasons for the delay finally deciding on “another aircraft was too close to EasyJets aircraft.”

    They refused compensation so we used Bott & Co, who have secured compensation for us (around £225 each) We’ve lost a bit in terms of Botts fee but something is better than nothing.

    Thanks for the advice on here x

    Well done and congratulations, I hope (if you suffer again) you might have the courage to go down the DIY route. Let’s hope you don’t get delayed again.

    But exactly as you say something from Botts is better than nothing and walking away

    Well done :beer::j:j:j

    I don't think a firm of solicitors would publicly tell porkies!

    Quote from Botts website.

    Our massive flight data library will go to work and qualify your claim almost instantly, cross-referencing all our historical data on weather conditions, extraordinary circumstances and technical faults. We’re able to tell you instantly if you have a valid claim and the amount you may be able to claim for.

    We take weather readings at every airport everywhere in the world at least once an hour, which means we can give you an instant decision. We can check your flight information against our huge database of flight and weather information.

    If what they say is true then why are flights still showing as eligible for compensation more than 6 months after Bott told me they weren't?

    we were on the Edinburgh to Dalaman flight last saturday. It was due to depart at 2.30pm. we were told the plane was stuck in dubrovonik due to a technical fault and given a £3 refreshment voucher. we were told should leave about 5.15pm. It finally took off 3 hr 8min late, the pilot confirmed they couldnt close the cargo door in dubrovonik and engineers had been repairing it. As it went over 3 hr can we claim? thanks

    It's not the delay at take off that matters, it's the delay on arrival. If you were more than 3 hours late on arrival it sounds like an open and shut compensation claim.
