Unfortunately I have not received a reply. I have since sent two more emails threatening to take legal action and still radio silence. How should I proceed from here?

Having threatened to take legal action shouldn't you, er, take legal action?
  • Hi, Can someone advise please, we had a six hour delay from Verona to Gatwick in June due to a bird strike, I have sent a template letter to Easyjet by and email via their site, they have come back to say that it was an extradinary act and no compensation payable. This is not the case as per a court hearing in April. Where do i go from here, do I write to them again and site this case or do I do to the CAA?

No to CAA, yes to NBA then probably MCOL - all explained in Vauban's Guide.
  • Hi there. I am going to make a claim against Easyjet but just want to know if anyone has taken them to small claims court and made a claim on behalf of other people that were travelling with you? There are 6 people in my travel group but not sure if I can claim on behalf of us all.
    Thanks!

My flight to Rome FCO was cancelled last night less than 72hrs before departure!! EASYJET have also cancelled the following days flight as well!! In order to salvage myholiday and not lose an expensive hotel booking in Rome, I have rebooked with Ryanair to Ciampino at much higher cost. I would imagine that this problem cannot be classed as unforeseen as the issues in Rome have been going on since May7th, also most other airlines seem to be arriving at Fco without too many issues!! All I want to claim back is thedifference in cost between my original flights (cheap-booked Jan) and the last minute expensive Ryanair flight. Has anyone else been affected by a similar occurance
? And if so, how successful were youingetting compensation?

EastJet finally got back to me this morning after 4 weeks. The amount of follow up emails they ignored is ridiculous.

They had admitted liability. They said "5th March was delayed by 4 hours and 12 minutes due to a technical issue with the aircraft. Therefore you are eligible for 250EUR compensation per passenger".

Is 250 Euro the normal level of compensation or am I entitled to any more?

I'm glad I went for the compensation because back in March when the delay happened I was actually going to leave it be. :j

cupid - easyjet and other airlines that use the fire affected terminal have either cancelled or rerouted flights since the begining of May, when the fire happened, on a daily basis and at short notice. As you say, this can hardly be classed as an unforseen circumstance.
It is difficult to find out from any sourceexactly what is happening.
As usual though the airlines don't actually seem to care about the passengers that actually put the profits into thier coffers. Any airlines worth its salt would have ditched Fiumincino by now and switched their flights to Ciampino.
I maybe affeted by this problem in 2 weeks time but have not been able to get any answer form Easyjet.
And of course Ryanair will be milking the misfortune of others to the maximum.
