Flight delay and cancellation compensation, Easyjet ONLY

Another success and I have to say Easyjet were the easiest to deal with.
Flight EZY5058 Montpellier to Gatwick May last year. We were delayed by just over 3 hours. Made an immediate claim but rejected with the 'technical fault' defence. Following the Jet2 ruling I emailed again and within hours they responded with a positive. I did have to get signatures from all travellers that they were happy for me to be paid but once that was sent they credited my account immediately.
Thanks for all the help and guidance, but mostly for the motivation to keep persevering!0 -
Just thought I'd post with my success that I've had through this week! After lots (and lots and lots..) of ignored emails/letters and much attempted 'fobbing off' from Easyjet they have finally agreed to settle out of court. So we should be receiving €500 compensation for the 4 hour delay we had coming back from Barcelona in July 2013 (my surprise proposal trip from H2B!) sometime soon!
Don't give up if your claim hasn't been settled yet - they will pay eventually! Good luck to all xxx0 -
Hi everyone,
I am in the process of trying to claim compensation from easyjet for a delay in 2010. My flight was delayed by 4hrs 38 mins according to flightstats.
I have contacted easyjet who say that their flight log says that the delay was not over 3hrs so therefore I am not entitled to compensation. This is completely untrue but I don't know how to prove it as info from the flight stats website can't be used as evidence. Any ideas?
Many thanks in advance. One day, i will be a genius. One day, they will perfect brain transplantation.0 -
I assume your 4 hours 38 is the arrival (and not the departure) delay?
you could try using one of the NWNF sites such as EUclaim and entering the flight number and date, they should come back with a "you may have a claim" or "we do not believe you have a claim" response0 -
Yes that time is the arrival delay. Should have arrived at 18:10 we actually arrived at 22:48. I checked with Eu claim and they say I am entitled to compensation. Although how I can prove this is difficult. Even if I begin court proceedings how can I show this to the court? One day, i will be a genius. One day, they will perfect brain transplantation.0

I'm trying to find out what caused my delay with Easyjet back in 2010. They keep fobbing me off with excuses that they are awaiting information on this. Is there anyway that I can find out this information?0

Maybe if you quoted the date/route/flight number this may assist however if you were delayed over 3 hours I suggest you court claim soon as easyJet could well be delaying a response so you run out of time in which to make a court claim.0 -
Thanks, I have done everything that you have suggested, also included the flight stats showing that flight was delayed by 232mins but now I need to find out why but they continue to see they are awaiting the information and cannot assist any further until they receive it! I just wondered if there was any way that I could find out this info0

I think if you read what 111KAB has posted the explanation is there, you need to have a read of Vaubans excellent guide, that will explain fully what your next steps are. After reading PtL Vaubans Guide , please don't desert us, hang around and help others!
Hi, we’ve had to remove part of your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -

I meant for you to include info on this page re flight as someone may have been a fellow passenger - your name suggests you are north of the border - if so you only have 5 years to submit a claim - I trust you are not being hoodwinked by easyJet thus taking you over the 60 month threshold. Flightstats stands for nowt in Court - you do not need to wait for EJ excuse/lies .... surely you must have been given some reason for the delay however a trawl through Flightstats will reveal if there were other delays and if quite a few you stand a good chance inclement weather (no claim) but if only your flight delayed then a reasonable chance EJ plane went tech.0
