Blimey - you couldn't make it up! Though the comedic value is great, at some point you might tire and decide you've given them enough chances. Court isn't that difficult anymore, and I don't believe any airline would try to defend a delay caused by a normal technical fault.0

easyJet staff on the day all told us the weather was fine at our destination but that our flight was delayed due to our plane being held up due to bad weather in a completely different part of the UK having a domino affect on their operations. When it comes to claiming, though, they are saying the weather was poor at the destination, even though the airport doesn't corroborate that story.
If the airline lies, what chance do we stand?0 -
A better chance when it ends up in court. If they insist on either not telling you the reason or giving "misinformation" that won't look good in front of the Judge.
Neither will changing a story/excuse from reply to you to court submission/witness statement.

But who is to say what any delay was caused by?

You're right that you get a myriad of stories - and it's often only when you start legal action that the truth. If you suspect that the story you've been given doesn't stand up to scrutiny, and the airline aren't budging, that's your next step.0 -
Is there any way to check how late a flight was? I have looked on my easyjet profile but there are no flight details there.
All I can remember is that our flight was in the feb school holiday and we went skiing and we were stuck at Grenoble airport for hours but cant remember exactly how long it was, I do remember that we were given a voucher for a drink and baguette.
Any help appreciated.

I'm about to submit an application for compensation after a fairly horrendous flight earlier this year, and have become quite concerned by some of the info displayed on Flight Stats.
My flight departed on 05-04-14 from Liverpool Airport at 4.30pm heading to Fuerteventura. Shortly after take off, an announcement was made that the second engine had failed and that we would be landing at Bristol to switch aircrafts. After a nervy landing, the engineer came on board to attempt to repair the aircraft.
For the next hour, we were kept on the plane with no air conditioning and no water, and a number of very distressed children. During this time, we were repeatedly given contradicting information (that we would be remaining on the aircraft/disembarking/remaining/disembarking/remaining/etc).
Eventually, we did disembark the aircraft and were escorted directly to the gate, where we needed to wait for another aircraft to be prepared. Once again, there was no access to refreshments or toilets, and neither Bristol Airport or Easyjet offered water to passengers.
We eventually landed in Fuerteventura close to midnight that evening. I understand that the problems are likely to be considered extraordinary circumstances, but I'm will to give it a go any way. My concern is that when I have searched Flight Stats to see how late our flight was, it is marked as 'Landed On Time' with a flight time of just over 1hr, when it is normally 4hrs 15mins without delays.
Has anybody else experience inaccurate data on Flight Stats?0 -
tipsychick86 - flightstats is only an aid not a bible and if you are convinced your delay was over 3 hours then submit your claim.0

Hello.. we were delayed 4 hours to Malta in 2012.. I booked through co-op travel and as I don't have any proof at all to say I was on the flight I asked co-op travel who I booked with to check for me ...I was informed they have a new "system" and they can only go back to December that year (I traveled Sept).... Should I still send a complaint letter to Easy-jet or would it be simpler to go through no win no fee people. Thanks0

Hi, I was delayed in 2010 flying back from sharm el sheikh to Manchester, we were delayed over 3 hours then the flight crew were over their hours so we had to fly to Madrid to collect another crew before we could fly to Manchester, I think in the end it was around 4 and half hours behind schedule. How much comp should I be claiming for per passenger? Is it €300 or €600 and what are my chances of success
Thanks0
