I spoke to a guy at B*TT & Co and the guy said that so far they had won their customers tens of thousands of pounds in compensation for it's customers.
I asked how much it had yet got off Jet 2 ...... "NOTHING"
If they can see you are persistent and serious with your claim and it is within the regulation they will pay up.
We insisted the money had to be transferred to our bank account within 7 days or we would not contact the court to cancel the case.
They paid direct to our account within 24 hours.
IF YOU WANT THE COMPENSATION YOU HAVE TO PUT IN THE WORK. It is not that difficult if you study the pages on this forum and if you cannot see an answer to you particular problem there is plenty of advice available.
The no win no fee companies are cherry picking and have no interest whether you get your compensation or not.0 -

Is there any way of finding out to which flights theses two cases refer? I know they can't be regarded as setting a precedent but woul still be very useful information.0 -
My delay happened in Portugal but I can't get INAC (the Portugese CAA) to reply to my request to investigate my complaint and tho they helped me on an earlier case the UKECC won't help me on this one at least without a reply from INAC, so I've decided to use a claims firm, they take 27% plus 25 euros if successful but takes all the stress, time and worry out of it all. I will post the outcome.0

My partner and I flew with Jet2 flight LS120 from Ibiza to Glasgow on 12th June 2013. This was scheduled to depart at 8:45pm but was delayed for 4 hours, departing at approx. 12:45am, due to the French air traffic controller strikes.
Despite receiving a text message from Jet2 at 5:19pm on 12/06/13 apologising for the delay to the flight and stating that refreshments were available, the whole affair was handled very poorly in my opinion.
Upon checking in our baggage, I asked a Jet2 representative about refreshments who stated that they were not quite sure if vouchers would be handed out yet and it would depend on how long the delay was but to look out for a member of staff upstairs in the departure lounge.
At no point did we see or were we approached by a representative, having walked the full length of the departure lounge several times. As soon as our gate number (14) was indicated on the screens we headed to it and remained there until departure. Again, no sign of any Jet2 staff. We subsequently found a customer information bulletin lying on a chair at the gate stating that the delay was expected to be in the region of 3 hours 10 minutes with a new estimated departure time of 23:55 local time and that vouchers to the value of €6.45 per person would be available, however not usable on the flight itself.
A representative did finally appear shortly before boarding where I quizzed her about the refreshment vouchers to which she replied, "Oh, those were handed out hours ago". She said there were handed out at gate 8 bizarrely! I argued that we had been at the correct gate for hours and that no staff appeared.
Having finally boarded the flight (maybe someone else who was on the flight could advise of the time), we were sat waiting for what felt like over an hour due to the 3 toilets needing serviced (emptied).
We did buy essentials on board - sandwiches and water which we would like to claim back. In addition to this, is there anything else we could claim such as the vouchers that were not made available to us and an amount of compensation for the disappointment, frustration, etc. caused? I was advised to take the day off work on the 13th due to being exhausted from getting to bed at 4am UK time. Could I make a claim for this also?
Apologies for the novel and thanks in advance for any replies.0 -
Submit your receipts for purchased food and drink (no alcohol) to Jet 2 Cust services, but that's about it.0

As it was a chap apparently called Bird, I assume so....
But then it does appear to be a large firm, so maybe not..
Can't check as their website appears to have crashed.
Ha ha no, I've manged to check the very slow website, appears it could be a one Rob Hamblin? (nice of him to actually introduce himself at the hearing , not.)
An Associate. However looking at the size of the firm, I suspect those hourly rates are not far off.If you're new. read The FAQ and Vauban's Guide

There's a pun about a hand and a bush in there somewhere, but I'm too tired to make it. Fill in the dots, someone ...0
