Thank you Marktospark
I had assumed C.A.A. had just pressed the template button to see us off. However, we are not impressed they did not reply to our letter.
I now intend to read the other posts...but that will be another day as the good weather has to be taken advantage of!!
We have not used and don't intend to use Jet2 since this event as they do not care about their customers and I expect they will go down the same road as BMI Baby.0 -

If you read the Wallentin judgement you will see that tech issues are not normally regarded as ecs. So you certainly have a case. Jet2 are normally ok, certainly compared to Thomas Crook, and Monarch. I would be inclined to contact them again quoting the Wallentin ruling, and ask them to justify their claim for ecs against that. If they decline, or feed you a load of waffle, then send them a LBAIf you're new. read The FAQ and Vauban's Guide

Just returned my directions questionnaire... B&B had sent me a copy of their defence which is VERY long (but mostly doesnt apply IMO...)
I am nervous in case I lose and they bill me for legal costs & expenses...can they do that??
One point - if anyone wins and is allowed to name the flight they are on and CCJ reference...this surely opens the door to ALL other passengers on the same flight?
If more people come forward and do that ... might stop Jet2 defending these claims quite so readily?0 -

They cannot saddle you with loads of costs if you loose, that's the idea of mcol, supposed to be informal etc.,that is why I find it hard to believe that they sent a (senior) solicitor and two expert witnesses to tackle JPears. If you win or loose a case it does not set a precedent, so a district judge sitting the next day listening to the same evidence, could come to a different decision. even stranger then that Jet2 went to so much time, trouble and expense to defend the above case.If you're new. read The FAQ and Vauban's Guide
