Which brings up an interesting question - who would agree to settlement out of court with a gagging order?
And does anyone know how legally binding these are? Given the airlines refusal to abide by an EU regualtion/law, established in several courts around the EU.
I think its quiet because it takes so long to get hearing. Mine isn;t until June....
1. who would agree to settlement out of court with a gagging order? - I would imagine most people would grab the money and run
2. does anyone know how legally binding these are? - Do you mean "would the airline honour their out of court offer"?
Thanks for the reply. I have a case with the caa and waiting to see how this and other small claims pan out.0 -

Any guidance appreciated ?
Have gonr through the process with jet 2 after a 12 hour delay, but after getting sending multiple letters Jet 2 are still refusing to provide details with regards the detailed nature of the fault.
Instead using the standard text answer which they seem to be given to most people about a safety issue but with ab no detail.
Want to take this further but nervouus without further info.0 -
Now 64 days without a reply from Jet2 and at this stage I had only asked for details of 'fault' causing the delay. Another letter posted yesterday asking for the same details. The fault was smoke in flight deck, which was supposedly rectified. We then took off and had to return a half hour into flight due to re-occurence of same problem.0

If you are worried use a no win no fee firm. Likely they will 'win' and you will lose out on a decent percentage of what is owed to you but better than walking away.0 -
Hello all, having read through all posts on this thread, I'm just wondering if anyone is able to help me with my next step, I have sent a couple of letters to jet2 in regards to a flight which was delayed in 2007 for over 3 hours which they themselves have acknowledged, however the latest letter I received from them states that they have noted that my claim for compensation under the regulation EC261/2004 but advise that they are unable to consider my claim for compensation because the flight delay was over 2 years ago. I've not seen anyone have this reply before from jet2 so not too sure what my next step is, can someone help please.0

This is rubbish. The time limit is 6 years for legal action in UK (when in 2007 was your delayed flight?), some airlines are tring it on for a 2 year limit.
Time to take legal action.
It happened on the 29th June 2007 outbound from Blackpool to Alicante, I thought it was a load of rubbish just strange that I had not read anyone else on this thread receive this sort of reply.0 -

It doesn't matter, as soon as you have a reply that denies your claim you're free to start court action! So do it!0
