Why didn't the county court sort things out?Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0

I was given a letter for reasons at the airport and posted it earlier in the thread see post #216
http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.php?p=59668869&postcount=216
I have now had a letter from jet2 saying they wont pay as
"The root cause was an unexpected technical fault to the aircraft scheduled to operate your flight. As a direct result this caused the delay to your flight. This was an extraordinary circumstance beyond Jet2.com's actual contol."
Unless I'm mistaken, this contradicts the statement in the letter I posted doesn't it? That seemed to suggest the problem was on an earlier flight.
I notice on other posts that people are advised to get a specific explanation for a technical fault before taking things further but I don't understand why. I am only going to complain to CAA in the first instance and it seems unnecessary to get more detailed info unless someone can explain otherwise
Your case would suggest your delay was a knock on, so even if it was an EC, under the regs the EC doesn't count. I believe your second explanation from J2 is a stock template answer. I suspect J2 are not actually looking at the specifics of each case until it gets to legal proceedings, just stating EC on every claim. If you're new. read The FAQ and Vauban's Guide

You just have to tailor any questions to your specific claim/case.
It is unlikely J2 will actually provide the info you request at this stage, but it goes in your folder to present at court hearing that they were obstructive and withheld information. If you're new. read The FAQ and Vauban's Guide

Why didn't the county court sort things out?
It's not up to the co court to 'sort things out', they are not the final arbiter. The Judge makes a decision and that's the end of his role. The defendant can accept the decision or if not try to appeal it, and if they want to appeal they can always find grounds, the legal system lives on litigation so there is a self preservation motive in encouraging more of it as it gives them all a living - judges, barristers, solicitors etc.0 -

Our flight was delayed a whole day last year.
There was something wrong with the plane and they had to fly in another to get us home. Delay total was about 22hrs.
If it is a technical fault with the plane does that mean that you can't claim and it is an extraordinary circumstance?0 -

It's all gone quiet on here! has anybody got a court date or result yet?
I'm starting to wonder if jet2 are settling prior to court on condition of the complainant taking an oath of silence.
Does anybody know of a case which was due which has now gone quiet??0 -

And does anyone know how legally binding these are? Given the airlines refusal to abide by an EU regualtion/law, established in several courts around the EU.
I think its quiet because it takes so long to get hearing. Mine isn;t until June....If you're new. read The FAQ and Vauban's Guide
