You'll get a copy of the defence sent to you in the post - will be interesting to read. Then you'll be send an allocation questionnaire, asking about whether you want it dealt with in the small claims track, where in the UK, and whether you are happy to accept mediation. All pretty straightforward.
If you post or PN the defence to some of the experienced contributors, I'm certain folk will be helpful.0 -

If your choose your local CC (which you should, in most cases) they will eventually then send you an N157 giving details of your hearing date and the fee that is payable, usually within a VERY short time frame. If you're new. read The FAQ and Vauban's Guide

Did you receive this information from the court?
In my case, acknowledgement of service on 13 March received indicating an intention to defend all of the claim. No defence or advice that a defence has been filed has been received. It is over 28 days since service. Should I apply for Judgement in default of the defence being filed?0 -

I got the info from the MCOL website. Nothing received as of yet.
Is it a sliding scale for County Court costs?Loved our trip to the West Coast USA. Death Valley is the place to go!0 -

Is it 28 days since the papers were deemed served on Jet2. If only just then hang on another couple of days. EVERY law firm will submit a defence at the last possible minute by fax. Its part of the pathetic brinkmanship game they seem to think is in play. If its 28 days since Jet2 acknowledged, then they have ahd more than enough time, get a judgement by default. If you're new. read The FAQ and Vauban's Guide

As for costs I really have no idea but assumed the issue fee covered a hearing.0 -

Thanks JP. The Notice that Acknowledgement of Service Has Been Filed says "The Defendant filed an Acknowledgement of Service on 13 March 2013". I think that is over 28 days but maybe the post is holding up the Defence. Original deemed date of service was 14 March.0 -
