Well, hopefully there won't be a next time, but if there is you'll have the confidence to go DIY.
A good result though and welcome to quite a small elite club

I'm guessing he discussed his participation with colleagues and was advised against it. This was probably good advice.

Well my post is still there, please don't remove it MSE. I have made a copy. If Jet2 staff want to come on here and admit that they put people t the bottom of the pile for not submitting boarding passes then we all have a right to know.
And we are not "stubborn gits", we are customers who have been treated appallingly and deserve better.0 -
Jet2 boy (martindall) seems to have been erased now.
I wonder if this was the comment that was the cause for concern:
Oh yes, and as for horses a-holes of airline companies, at least it isnt Ryanair!
I wonder of Ryanair have seen it?
I haven't told them.0 -
We have a claim in. I put it in the hands of Bott in the very, very early days.
Rang them last week and they said they had made an offer to jet 2 and were waiting to hear. I asked if there was a time scale and they said no.
Rang them this week and have been told they are waiting for a court date.
Should we keep on to them?Loved our trip to the West Coast USA. Death Valley is the place to go!0 -
yes northwest1965 keep the pressure on Bott & Co. You are paying them .... they are working for you .... make them work!0

Bott & Co shouldn't need chasing on it northwest, they will want their 27% just as much as you want the rest, just sit back relax, let them take care of it, after all that's what you're paying them for.

Well I think that's the first time, that we've had an alleged Jet2 employee Martin pop in and put his personal views over to us (admittedly ill thought out and acting, as I imagine as an unofficial spokesperson).
Some of the text has been removed by MSE, no not why, so not to cause offence I won't re-post it, but instead put my personal take on it, after battling and acting as an LIP over the last few years.
My personal argument with Jet2 has never been about boarding passes, my battle has been because of the disgraceful, way I have been lied to, mistreated and personally denied my legal rights and due compensation under EC261/2004.
My story started CLICK HERE! and continued with further detail HERE!
It is interesting that an alleged Jet2 employee Martin suggests that claimants are 'gits' and that claimants letters are put to the bottom of the pile if boardings passes are not included with the claim.
Also referring to another airline in a derogatory manner! Quite unbelievable behaviour and thoughts from someone that purports to deal with EC261/2004 claimants and be an employee of Jet2.
To suggest that to employ a Solicitor is a waste of your compensation, is simply not accurate and a slur on such pioneering Solicitors such as Messrs Bott & Co. Who without their efforts, Jet2 and other airlines, in my opinion would not be so eager to pay a passenger their due compensation. One only has to think of the extraordinary lengths they had to go to the High Court and finally Supreme Court to get justice for Mr Huzar and Mr Dawson.
It is my belief that this further demonstrates the ethos of Jet2 and their employees, I have not read from one single forum member by PM or on open forum, that really wants to either a) use a Solicitor or b) become an LIP to claim what they are rightfully due under the regulations. All claimants start off by normally writing a nicely worded letter to Jet2 asking for compensation and setting out why they think they are entitled to it.
I can assure you, that I got entangled in a legal situation that has overtaken two years of my life to deal with, for what I believe should have been a simple letter writing exercise. The fact that my case has taken years to resolve is totally at the behest of the airline.
I believe Martindall was treated fairly and with the utmost respect from all fellow members on here, even though we are on the opposite side of the fence so to speak. I hope Jet2 apply to MSE and get an APPROVED JET2 representative to join us and speak up professionally and courteously to help passengers on here claim what is rightfully theirs under the EC261/2004 regulations.
Nobody can forget the deplorable way you have had utter contempt for your passengers in the past, but we can move forward positively and draw a line under it, so I invite Jet2 to become involved, and IF you really want to make a start in rebuilding the trust and respect that you have lost with me and others, do come and have a debate and put your side forward, this would make a great change from receiving letters and emails from your Solicitors 2Birds.
Cheers,
