You are right.... I am a burk.

Bott & Co's Figure would work out to be:

£ 594 (Interest)

plus

£ 445 (Bott & Co's 27% Fee)

plus

£ 103 (25 Euro x 5 Claim Fee)

Equals =£ 1142.00 (Give or Take for Bott & Co)

Maths was never my Strong Point.... Thanks Vauban !
I think you might have meant that you were a 'berk'. It's cockney rhyming slang for 'Berkshire Hunt'. I'll leave you to guess the rest!
• I have had a long running dispute with Jet2 following a 7 hr plus delay on a flight from Manchester to Madeira. They claimed the usual 'extraordinary circumstance defence' which I diidnt accept and contacted the CAA. They have been in communication with Jet2 for some months.
I eventually received an E-Mail from the CAA stating in their opinion this WAS NOT 'extraordinary circumstances' . They advised me to write back again to Jet2 attaching the CAA's E-Mail stating this was not 'extra ordinary circumstance'.
I have now received a reply back from Jet2 which basically states they are not changing their stance and insisting it was 'extraordinary circumstance' !!!!.
Can anyone assist re my next step ?
Is it Small Claims Court ?

Any posts regarding any other airline in this thread will be ignored (at least by me).
That is all you can do. Make sure you tell the CAA what you think of their "enforcement" role!

• Hi,
for the past few months I have been appealing with Jet 2 to get compensation as i was delayed for 5 hours from Palma airport to Leeds Bradford.
They reply with the usual 'extraordinary circumstances' however, my delay was due to a technical fault. Therefore surely I am eligible to claim?
I have sent an email to the CAA and now just waiting for reply.
Can anyone shed some light as to whether technical faults count as extraordinary circumstances?
Thanks

- generally tech faults are NOT extraordinary and CAA waste of time - see my post immediately above yours!

To save me and others the trouble of typing it all out again, why not go to the FAQs on page one. In particular you might want to look at the following links:

Technical fault with plane is NOT "extra ordinary circumstances" so you CAN claim
Extraordinary circumstances + Extra ordinary Circumstances

I think you should read all the FAQs - but especially the link "What to do next after reading the FAQs" - as well as a good selection of others' posts. This will give you a good idea about what you are up against. Only then can you take an informed decision about whether you think you have a case, and what you are prepared to do about it. Please be clear - this is not easy money to reclaim.
