What now??
No point in 'getting together'. What now? ..... off to court.0 -
It seems that Jet2.com claim 'extraordinary circumstance' for every claim that anyone makes. Reading the link regarding the CAA - is it true if your delay was not from the UK they will not look into it for you? Also is it best to avoid them as the article states they tend to side with the airline?
It looks like the only option is to take Jet2.com to court, but as our flight was delayed in 2011 I can't remember why?
So I suppose CAA is the only option, then court if deemed to be a technical fault.
Did Huzar win his appeal - got lost in the jargon?0 -

It's Jet2 that want to appeal, the hearing for permission to appeal hasn't taken place yet.

Seems even when Jet2 are taken to court and the passengers win their case Jet2 don't seem to like paying up. The Sheriffs are coming on BBC this morning had to be called in to recover over £2000 for the claimant....They paid up in the end.0

We were delayed at Faro in May 2013. I sent full details to Jet2 using the template letter as a guide. Received quick acknowledgment. Then an equally quick second letter asking for more detail - despite providing full details and a copy of the A4 bulletin we received at Faro explaining that our depature would be four and a half hours late due to "operational problems with your aircraft".
They wanted copies of our booking confirmatio or boarding passes. Fortunately I still had them and sent copies. Today I have received an equally quick reply saying that I am not due any compensation.
As others on here have been told, this is because of "extraordinary circumstances". It goes on to say the delay was caused by "an unexpected flight safety shortcoming"
Looks like they've found a nice little get out ploy to me.
Is it worth pursuing this? Has anyone been successful in challenging this type of explanation?0 -
Tom: I have answered this on your other post.0

...and your question has also been answered well over 100 times Tom.
Have a quick read and look around the forum. The forum obviously exists because the airlines try it on and don't play ball, as there are absolutely no penalties for them to do so.
Yes it's worth pursuing, if you think €250 each is a nice bit of padding for your back pocket.0 -
But subject to Huzar, Jet2 will block, procrastinate and fight all the way. I suspect they will continue to do so even if they loose appeal....If you're new. read The FAQ and Vauban's Guide
