It's the coach drivers doing the transfers. Please read Vaubans superb guide. To find it Google and then download 'vaubans guide'.0 -
Hi. My flight from East Midlands to Barcelona on Tuesday the 22nd has been cancelled today with no explanation. Tried calling their office to get a recorded message stating along the lines of "too busy, call back later", and the line cuts off. I was also unable to talk to anybody online all afternoon as they had nobody available (snowed under)! Flight number FR9388. I was only going to be in Barcelona for one night.
There are no alternate flights from East Midlands on any carrier. There's flights from Stansted and Heathrow airports, on Veuling and BA. However, it would cost me a fortune to get to any of those airports. Are Ryanair responsible for not only providing me with those alternate flights, AND my transport to those airports?0 -
Got nowhere with Ryanair yesterday and probably missed alternative flights in the meantime. Bit the bullet and rerouted ourselves to the tune of £500. As a minimum we'll get the original flight costs reimbursed so perhaps our loss limited to £300.
I'll submit a claim when we get back and turn it over to a no win no fee outfit if I need to.
I still don't know why the flight has been cancelled. Ryanair just dump you and leave you to fend for yourselves.0 -
The strikes don't seem to affect ATC or aviation in general so I cannot believe they are classed as a EC.
If you do make alternative arrangements remember to keep all receipts to claim back from the airline.
Ryanair are responsible imho. Please read Vaubans superb guide. To find it Google and then download 'vaubans guide'.0 -
I've just checked on EUClaim and they say the flight cancellation is due to an extraordinary circumstance. Is that game over for me?0

Done some digging on Twitter. Seems it's a French ATC strike. So presumably all I can expect from Ryanair is a refund on original flight?0
-
No, the right to rerouting applies regardless of why your flight was cancelled. It is only your right to cash compensation that is affected by this.0

Thanks. I'll not ask for a refund just yet and will submit a claim on our return.0

Hi,
Have you downloaded and read Vaubans guide, details are below here.
Thank you, I've found it and read it.
In his list of bundles, he includes Case C-549/07, Joined Cases C-402/07 and C-432/07 and Joined Cases C-581/10 and C-629/10.
Should I include those as well?
His case seems a bit different with a windscreen problem, so I don't know if all those would be relavent for me?
I don't actually know the real reason for my delay.0 -
Didn't the CAA mention the reason in their response? It will be difficult to prepare a case if you are completely in the dark as to why the flight was delayed.0
