Anth - read Vauban's Guide - issue NBA/LBA - enjoy (eventually) your compensation.0
-
So your advice would be to write an LBA then follow it up with a small claim through the courts?0

No my advise would be to read Vauban's Guide then make up your own mind.0

I will let you know the outcome of my claim in due course Novice, if necessary by PM.

My second victory against Jet2.......but I had to serve the court papers before they agreed to settle.
PS....yes it should be on the Jet2 thread but my original response related to a Thomson claim in similar circumstances.0 -

just a bit of hope for all on here that were on tom 113 Punta cana to Manchester delayed for 25 hours, after the first refusal letter, reporting to CAA numerous phone calls and messages, 6 months later the cheque arrived this morning yipee
That's great, all the effort paid off. Hopefully they'll soon pay compensation to those of us who have used other means to get them to settle.0 -
Hi can anyone tell me why they are sending all newclaims to Liverpool? Do you have to attend the hearing as its a long way from Surrey?0

Liverpool is where the centre of judicial expertise is for 261/04 claims - and it is a good thing that your case has been allocated there. The Judges know what they're doing and tend, I have seen, very often to strike out the usual airline defences without even a hearing. if your case is relatively straightforward, I wouldn't be too concerned.0 -
Same as Anth Daley, I have received the 'Under Warranty' therefore not our fault excuse.
As my delay was caused by plane being late into UK and after reading Vaubin;s guide I think Wallentin judgement should apply here so am going to send NBA to CEO at Thomson and gibve them 14 days to pay or see them in court.
Any one any comments, advice or similar?

Hi all,
I am new to claiming flight compensation due to a delayed flight and wanted to ask your advice on how I should proceed.
I was due to fly from Manchester to Antalya with Thomson as part of a package holiday on the 29th May 2015 at 13:15. We started off with the flight being delayed due to an issue with not enough cabin crew, this was around 30mins.
14:00 - We eventually took off and got as far as Amsterdam and had to turn back due to a technical issue. Apparently a faulty valve which distributes antifreeze to the right hand engine.
16:00 - Arrived back at Manchester and was greeted by the fire engines following us down the runway.
19:30 - Boarded the same plane after repair and took off again at 20:30 after waiting for a slot to take off.
12:30 - Landed in Antalya.
Would be a total delay of 07:15 as we should have taken off at 13:15 and after going back didn't take off until 20:30? I am not sure as we did actually take off at 14:00 but then returned due to the technical fault.
Any advice or opinion would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Martin.0
