I have their admission of liability after a long battle against endless denials, and a nice cheque on the way - it's enough for me. Decision taken and line drawn (as long as the cheque arrives...).0

Nicktee, if you included interest in your initial court papers (N1?) you are entitled to interest in their settlement figure. It is five years after all.
I wouldn't say entitled, only a DJ can order interest and that's only at his/her discretion. Some get zero some get 8% most seem to be getting about 4%.
Although I hear from the people that know that most airlines are successfully fighting off interest due to a technicality as it isn't a claim for damages or debt and therefore isn't covered by section 69 of the County Court Act.After reading PtL Vaubans Guide , please don't desert us, hang around and help others!

Two good points there Novice Angel, the second of which is covered in Thomson's defence.
If I went to court it's all down to the DJ, I could come away with nothing or next to nothing, and still maybe the £80 hearing fee worse off, another factor influencing my decision to come to a halt.0 -

Well it would be time off work, the hassle I can see both arguments. You have to do what is right for you.
Just to note though, that if you won you're case you would get the hearing fee back regardless of any interest decision. After reading PtL Vaubans Guide , please don't desert us, hang around and help others!

Could someone give me the right address to send my NBA letter to please as my claim will run out at the end of this month and I don't want to get it wrong.
Thanks

You need to commence legal proceedings as soon as the NBA runs out, in view of the time, I'd shorten the NBA to 10 days, possibly even 7 at least get the Court process underway. After reading PtL Vaubans Guide , please don't desert us, hang around and help others!

Just want to give Thomson a bit of praise. I sent an email in March about a flight from Gatwick to Sanford in June 2012. We were delayed for about 3 and a half hours.
We didn't hear anything from them, but this morning a cheque arrived for £3058, with Thomson citing operational issues.
I can't believe it was that easy as we had not kept boarding passes, or any other documentation, so thankyou Thomson!!0 -

I have been reading the posts on this thread with great interest for almost 2 years. I have never posted before but have joined today to announce my success in getting compensation from Thomsons. Thank you to all those people who kept we claimants informed and gave us encouragement to keep going. I started my claim in July 2013 & despite Thomsons telling me their "No" was their final decision; yesterday I received my £1164.48 compensation cheque. I acknowledge if I had followed through on my threat to take them to court I would have received some interest, but I still think this is a victory. So all those people who were on Flight TOM2153 from Corfu on 20 Sept 2011 get your claims in!! Thanks again esp to Vauban your guide was invaluable.0
