so 28 days are up, I can't see thompson responding over the next day or so and therefore options are simply wait (and potentially forget it) or take them to court.
So:
N1 to hand, court action being commenced tuesday next week. Any help with the wording would be appreciated.0 -
I called Thomson on 26th March to chase up my letter dated 25 February ( seeking compensation for a 40+hour flight delay from Gran Canaria to Edinburgh in 2011)
They acknowledged receipt my letter and advised they have been overwhelmed with the volume of claims received and are working through them in date order, and I would likely receive a response within the next 2-3 weeks.0 -

I sent mine on 18th feb and got reply last Monday (re same flight) so shouldn't be long for you. They have rejected the claim saying the engine fault was extraordinary circumstances. Please let us know if you have any luck. Cheers0 -
Can an extraordinary circumstance caused due to poor weather snow, on day 1 delaying flights which then causes a knock on affect on a 2nd day delaying even more flights.
Can Thomson still claim the 2nd day of flight delays E/C?....or can then only claim E/C for the 1st day when the E/C occurred?
My flight was delayed for 24hrs on the 2nd day because of flights unable to depart from a number of UK Airports from the 1st day. The Airport we were at did not have any problems with the weather.
Received 2 page letter from Thomson claiming E/C, completley ignoring the fact we were delayed a further 7hrs 27mins waiting for a 2nd aircraft to take our flight, which had a technical fault in Sanford Florida.0 -
Scoobydooby, perhaps read up on that finnair case in the FAQs.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0

HI, Can anyone advise me on the response i got from thomsons...
The 3 page response basically claims the 5 hour long haul delay in 2011 was because of compression faults on the aircraft. They claim this was out of their hands as its not something that occurred through poor maintenance and can happen at literally any time.
This to mean sounds like an airline/aircarft fault and I do not see how they can claim its out of their control. Can anyone shed some light ? I know In the FAQ at the beginning of this thread it does state problems with the plane are NOT exceptional circumstances ...but its really thrown me the way that have admitted it was the plane then gone into great detail as to why its not their fault.

hi guys,
On the template letter, it includes the booking reference. My Claim is against thomson as they were the airline, but it was booked in a thomas cook shop for an ocean village cruise.
the booking confirmation i have is on ocean village headed paper with a thomas cook booking reference.
shall i still include this booking reference or not include one at all?
thanks
