Hi, I was delayed for 8 and a half hours flying from Glasgow to Cancun in July 2007 with Thomson. Would I still be entitled to compensation now?0

Statute of Limitations. Any legal action you take for recovery of compensation from the airline must be undertaken within 6 years (5 in Scotland)
The airline can safely ignore you.
You have left it too late. Sorry. If you're new. read The FAQ and Vauban's Guide

Hi, I booked a flight through Trailfinders to Carribean, was almost 24 hours late in arrival, flew with BA. When I go onto the BA website, it says I have to claim through whoever I booked it with, but on this website it says it's the carrier - so wouldn't that be BA? It then says for claiming through BA that I have to go to the 'Manage my booking' part of the website, which I can't seem to do as I booked through Trailfinders....Confused! Please can anyone suggest what to do? Also, I'm guessing as I did end up (eventually) getting the last leg of the journey, that I can just claim the compensation part? Thanks in advance for your kind assistance!!0

No idea what you mean there but your delay claim (if valid) is against the airline that you flew with. If BA, send them a letter. Address will be on the forum somewhere if not obvious from their website.
Have a look through this and the relevant links for the full process before you do anything:

Thanks, sorry wasn't clear - Heathrow to Bahamas was delayed by just under 3 hours, but then had to get off plane late at night when we landed (should have just been for one hour), and 2nd part of flight to Cayman didn't happen till 4pm the next day0

Hi
Our party of 4 were delayed for 19 1/2 hours on the way back from Punta Cana to Glasgow on 24th July 2014. I wrote to Thomson via the template from MSE and I know that they have received the letter as it has been signed for, but to date I have not had any response from them. Can someone please advise me as to what I can do next?0 -
I had a flight delay of 6 hours on the 19th July Manchester to Dalaman. Wrote to Thomson on the 4th August and got a reply on the 8th September from Thomson, stating that
"Having looked into the flight reports, I can see a previous scheduled flight was delayed due to baggage belt failure at the airport. This had a knock on effect on your flight as same aircraft was programmed to be used. An alternative aircraft was used to reduce any further delay. Obviously, this is something that could not have be foreseen or prevented by us as this is maintained by the airport authority. Therefore, the root cause of the delay sits within extra ordinary circumstances. In the case of your flight, the delay was the result of delays to other aircraft caused by a deicsion by an aircraft authority to close the facility."
My query is that we were called to departure gate for boarding at the scheduled time and the plane was there to be boarded. We were then told whilst at the departure gate that the plane was delayed initially by 1 1/2 hours, later to be announced over the PA system of a further 4 1/2 hours delay.
My question is how do I find out what airport they are talking about where the baggage belt was broken?0 -

I doubt very much that a baggage failure would cause a 4.5 hour delay, do you?If you're new. read The FAQ and Vauban's Guide
