Just an update re my claim. I received a letter from Thomson that they have written to the Court asking for the trial date to be vacated and case stayed as Jet2.com are making an appeal re Huzar. They say they anticipate the application will be made to the Supreme Ct within 28 days and Supreme Ct then have 28 days to consider. Does anyone know if Jet2 are appealing and if so, any dates?

Does anyone know what the County Courts are making of these letters? Are they agreeable to Thomson's request?

I anticipate that most people with a pending Court case will be receiving 1 of these letters...

I get the impression Thomson not happy at the moment as their score is 2 nil!

Have been on Twitter and have had a response from Thomson saying they have 56 days to respond to letters. Will let you know if and when I get a response to my recorded delivery letter.

As anyone had a recent response concerning compensation for delayed flights?

Pls dont start your own thread - there is a dedicated Thomson thread (in fact two!) so you can post there. You can also read about others experiences on the same thread.

Well I've just posted my bundle off to Thomson today! Tomorrow I will deliver the Court bundle in person as it is at my local CC. It has taken a while to prepare but I'm happy with my final paperwork. I have been granted an oral hearing after writing to the Court and requesting this. Originally, the Judge was going to make his decision on the paperwork alone but I wasn't happy with that. I think also having to pay £170.00 for a "Court hearing", I deserve an actual hearing!
I have my court date but not the actual time. I presume this will be sent to me after the court receives my bundle?
Thanks to everyone who have supported me. You know who you are! I will keep you informed, obviously, of the outcome. Still nervous though at the next delaying tactics which might come from Thomson!

Hi

I have just received a 3 page letter from Thomson saying they are not going to pay any compensation even though I was delayed 24 hours going to Cancun. I am not happy and would like to know what further action I can take. They even issued us with a letter on landing with regards to making a claim for the delay, but they are not going to pay. I am not happy at all.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You should start by reading the FAQs on the first page of this thread which tell you everything you need to know. I suspect that the letter they gave you was to enable you to make a claim under your travel insurance policy. Making such a claim doesn't prejudice your rights. What reason did Thomson give for the delay?

It states a technical flight prior to delay but they never said that until we got on the plane and pilot said the plane had come from Shannon and the fault had been repaired.

We actually took off for about an hour and then the pilot said that we would have to return to Manchester due to the fault.

When we returned to manchester we had fire engines and ambulances following us down the runaway.

We were then told that the plane would have to be repaired and the flight crew had gone past their flying hours. We had taken off 3 hours late.

I was on this flight too and sent a letter last week. We ended up getting a different flight home on Saturday night as we were not willing to wait until 1am when it was only an 'estimated' flight time. What time did it actually take off in the end?
