I meant Thomas Cook then. But the point still stands, does it not?0 -
Hello
Has anyone had any success with compensation for the above flight which was delayed by over 7 hours?
Thanks0 -
me and my gf were on the original flight home tom33 to depart on the 14th june 2014 the plane had a default and the right engine would not start! juat over 3 hours sat on the plane with very little water we were off loaded and put into hotels! the plane was fixed over night and we took off the next day at 2pm ish and landed in the uk 20 hours delayed! i must also point out the bad service of the return flight compared to the outbound flight! we had premium upgrade and the service home was a disgrace! they had no drinks no tea no hot chocolate! im hoping to get some compensation!0

Anyone who pays for a so-called premium upgrade on a Thomson flight has more money than sense0

Flight number TOM 2565
Flight departure date 20 May 2011 (yep 2011)
From Corfu to Manchester
Scheduled departure time 22.00
This flight arrived 6 hours late in Manchester
Flight length 2270km
Applied for compensation for the above late flight.
Thomson replied that they can see that our flight was delayed due to our aircraft experiencing a bird strike on a previous scheduled flight. However it doesn't say 'THE' previous flight
The compensation claim was therefore not allowed by Thomson because they say our flight was delayed under 'Extraordinary circumstances'
Then went to the CAA for them to look into my case.
They replied that because the flight took off from another EU country and not an airport in the UK then they were not prepared to assist.
They referred me to the National Enforcement Body in Greece, ie the Hellenic Civil Aviation Authority, and said that I should contact them
Is that right?
So is that it?
It certainly looks like its game over for my claimDont you just love freshly congealed pigs blood, with a bit of fat in0 -

It's only game over for your claim if you thought you might get paid out without taking them to court. And if that really was your attitude, then to be honest it was never game on in the first place.
Do you want your money? Then start legal action? Too much for you? Then approach a NWNF company and get at least 70% of what you're owed.0 -

This forum has been going for some time now and there's a huge resource which, if you are prepared to spend some time reading, could benefit you greatly financially. As Vauban says, you can speak to a no win no fee firm for nothing (!) so you can do either of the above or just leave it.0 -

Interesting response from Thomson to my request that the stay is lifted following Huzar. In addition to writing to the Court asking for a futher stay for 2 months pending clarification on appeal to Supreme Court on Huzar decision they have also asked for my flight details to consider if compensation is due! Incompetence on their part I think.0
