I can hardly believe what I have read in the back of the current Thomson Florida brochure.

Under "CONDITIONS OF CARRIAGE", They are still quoting the Montreal Convention! Stating this is a notice required by European Community Regulation No. 889/2002.

Then under " TIME LIMIT FOR ACTION" they are stating any action in court must be brought within 2 years from date of arrival of the aircraft or from the date on which the aircraft ought to have arrived!

Under "BASIS FOR THE INFORMATION" they quote "The basis for the rules described above is the Montreal Convention of 28th May 1999, which is implemented in the Community by Regulation (EC) No. 2027/97 as amended by Regulation (EC) No.889/2002 and national legislation of the Member States".

There is more but print is very small! Basically they repeat the same things they quote in their Defence documents.

It's about time they read the EC Regulation 261/2004!

Well...................I do know that there are people privvy to the ruling to be announced on Thursday, but under Court embargo and so unable to discuss it. I just wonder if someone at Thomson knows? And is that why they are putting it in print now in their brochures?

    Don't listen to them Bonters!

If you take the letters C E N T I P E D E and J E N N E W E S T then, if you add some more letters and take others away, you get the phrase "THE CAA SAYS NO COMPO FOR YOU". Spooky, huh?

I have written to Thomson regarding the delay of over 24 hours on 11th May to Cancun. As yet I have not received a response (it will be 2 weeks on Thursday) just wondering if anyone has had any luck with responses since the Jet2 court case. Any help or advice would be appreciated I keep checking my emails but still nothing. I know it is early days but Thomson did hand out letters telling us how to claim, when we eventually landed in Cancun.

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

In 2008 we flew from Newcastle to paphos Cyprus.

We left Newcastle on time except after 4 hrs flying the pilot came over the tannoy saying that we need to do an emergency landing in Manchester! !! We flew around the UK burning fuel.

The plane had an apparent faulty washer causing a light to go on and off in the cockpit. We stayed in Manchester for about 4 hrs. This was because Thompson decided to send out faulty plane after being fixed to another destination as it would have been late getting back from Cyprus. The airline then left the passenger mafist on the plane.
We then had to wait around until they could obtain another copy. We did not arrive in Cyprus until 11.30pm instead of the 11.30am.
To top this off on the way back they had no food due to a mix up and would have delayed us going back if they waited for food.

I did complaine back in 2008 and got a crazy hamper for the kids.

    What are your thoughts guys
