Flight delay and cancellation compensation, Thomas Cook ONLY

Bottonline is the one I used yes, they said I am eligible to compensation. The flight definitely landed past the 3 hour mark, I remember checking the times soon as we touched the ground and it was at least 10 minutes over, in regards we didn't actually get off the plane for another 15 minutes.0

bott is sometimes overzealous. If you want you can give it to them they will take approx 30% if you do it your self-follow the info in post 8389.0

Would it still be wise to send the letter/email first before trying say bott to handle the claim? Also, would stating the rule about the doors opening as oppose to the plane landing in the same email make a valid point against them, or would it be better to leave it out?
Thank you for all the information and help you have given so far.0 -
You could always send the letter before action if they pay up all well and good. If they don't pay up you can still hand it to bott&co you don't need to put on about door time they already know that.0

Unfortunately the flight appears to have been in 2016. My subscription to FR24 goes back one year. Looking at the sites, it’s £££s to get data beyond that as you need a commercial subscription...
Could the OP use the FOI act to request the doors open time from the airline?0 -

And forgot to mention, FR24 gives landing time. FlightStats provides gate time. Neither provide doors open time.0 -
Such a shame that their is no access to the information, otherwise I would have the evidence to support my claim for sure.0

They have the info but will only release it if and when it gets to court0

Are we due more or something, or nothing at all?
Details are...
date of flight - 16-06-2016
flight - TCX2019
Hi Adam,
The flight out from MAN to pick you up (MT2018) arrived at LPA at 19.00 UTC, but did not depart back to MAN until 23.25 UTC.
I estimate it arrived back at MAN (landed) at 03.05 UTC (17/6/16). It then had to taxi to the gate, then have the airbridge connected before the first door was opened. I doubt this could have been done in 5 minutes. I cannot be precise about times as the Planefinder radar coverage stopped with the aircraft on final approach over Knutsford at 3.00 UTC.
The airline must give you the 1st door open time if you specifically ask for it. If they refuse you will need to ask for that information at the disclosure stage of MCOL. They will not be able to refuse at that point.
Good luck. Please read Vaubans superb guide. To find it Google and then download 'vaubans guide'.0 -
We had what can only be described as a nightmare journey back from Orlando, in summary
1st Attempt - 8:30pm Sat on plane without aircon as soon as we got on the plane, delay due to thunderstorm and missing our slot resulted in us waiting for over 2 hours in 37+ degrees without air flow - After passengers collapsed the flight was cancelled. Luggage kept on plane
We had been sent to a local hotel to the airport but check in was slow with only 1 person checking in 190 passenger's! ) got into our room @ 3am and out by 9am for breakfast. No sleep worrying about getting home late and all the phone calls I would need to make to re arrange parking / dog kennel's to only name a few and without any fresh clothes or toiletries.
2nd Attempt - Same plane 22 hrs later than 1st plane - Aircon fixed - We got within 2:30 hrs of London Gatwick - Pilot comes on to say SMOKE HAS APEARED ON THE PLAN AND WE NEED TO EMERGENCY LAND IN IRELAND. At this point Shannon airport was 40mins away - Trying to show your kids that everything will be ok when you really not sure really isn't easy.
Landed safely but then had to wait 7hrs for a plane that worked to flight us into London Gatwick.
I would love some advise on how much we should look to claim + Can we claim for more than one flight being late ? in terms of EU regs!
