Flight delay and cancellation compensation, Thomas Cook ONLY

  • Hi - I'm after a bit of advice. I claimed for a flight delay with Thomas Cook of 9 3/4 hours from Ibiza to LGW in September 2012. Rejected several times but finally they have agreed to pay out. I have just received the letter with the compensation but it equates to €250 each and they've given me holiday vouchers!

Am I right in thinking they should pay actual money?! Also, I thought you got a greater sum if the flight delay was over 5 hours?

In addition we had booked and paid for extra leg room seats but didn't get them. Are we able to ask for a refund of that cost? I did ask in my original correspondence and included all the relevant paperwork but they conveniently overlooked that and other matters that I had complained about, like not getting any refeshments until after being delayed by 5 hours.

Would be grateful for any help. Pretty hacked off with the hoops Thos Cook have made me jump through to get my compensation and they still appear to be playing games.

I know it's difficult for a Yorkshireman JP but you need to offer something in return. Perhaps if you try: 'I'll show you mine if you'll show me yours' then you might get a response.:rotfl:
