Ok, not keep at , more like, dont let the company fob you off with apparent lies and fabrication. Legal action can be daunting for the majority of people . It may take some time. Some people work quicker than others. Be determined and stand your ground may be a better use of words0

I definitely agree with that! Be determined, be sceptical about what you're told, and be brave enough to stand by your rights with legal action if necessary.
You're right of course that the thought of legal action puts off many. The airlines rely on this, of course. And though it can be hard work (but also satisfying!) to do it yourself, the NWNF route is a good one for those without the time or confidence to take it on alone.0 -
After sending a couple of letters to Thomas Cook and and getting fobbed off with the stock response, I have put it in the hands of a NWNF solicitor to handle. The money would be nice, but getting Thomas Cook to take my complaint seriously is even better0

As Thomas Cook are an EU carrier, the regulations apply whether leaving or returning to the EU.
The FAQs on the first page of this thread should give you all the information you need for claiming0 -
dinky244 - suggest you print this link for your bundle as Judges like reading a bit of gossip if included .....

Hello, I was also on this 27 hour delay back from Egypt, I've filled in a claim form via thomas cook.
Just out of interest has anyone ever claimed for a delay this size and what's the chances of getting anything?0 -

There are no details of the reason for the delay, etc., so it's not possible to give an informed opinion.
If you are planning on pursuing your claim (assuming it's rejected) have a read of the FAQs or speak to a no win no fee firm0 -
Hi David
Thomas cook gave letters out to us when we left the plane reason for delay was due to a "technical reason" (quote)
Brett did you just go online to claim or are you sending a letter- not sure which letter on this site to use as the flight was cancelled on the Friday and then re arranged for Saturday evening.Had to laugh at TC's cheek saying just claim on our own travel insurance company especially as it was their fault
Regards

Of course there's nothing to stop you claiming on your personal insurance in addition to your compensation from the airline! In practice however most policies pay peanuts for delays - whereas TC must now pay you 600 Euro per passenger!0
