Dont talk stupid, do you expect individual letters for everyone, when the answer is going to be the same, it would take years to get a response.

I think somebody might work for Thomas Cook?

I would expect a company of that size could manage a few personal replies yes. My girlfriend used to work on a small admin team for Vodafone business and they managed to get through 100's of emails a day. All personal replies!

If you are not making a claim or want advice on it why are you on this forum other than to belittle people and whine?

Using the word extraordinary 3 times in 1 paragraph. Do you think they are trying to tell you something? :D
I know i tried to phone yesterday and was put on hold for 50 mins and still no answer, so gave up, going to contact CAA today for advice on where to go from here.

I think the only thing they are going to listen to is a court claim now.
  • THis is my first ever post but just want some advice what to do next. I went to Tunisia in August and the flight was delayed over 3 hours. We were told at check-in that half the flight were going on time and they had prioritised those who had paid for meals. Those who hadn't had the delay (despite paying for pre-booked seats!). We didn't arrive in resort until the following morning (original time had been around midnight, time to get some sleep before the first day etc) we missed the first night.

There was a lot wrong with the holiday but I used a template on here for the letter and just stuck to the flight facts and detailed what I wanted. I wrote to TC in November before the compensation details were in the news. I received an acknowledgement then nothing.

I wrote to them again in January saying how unsatisfied I was and expected a response within 28 days. Again I got a basic acknowledgement letter telling me they were investigating.

28 days have now passed and i'm unsure what to do for the next step.

Any help would be great thanks
  • Yeah that is right.

On arriving on time at Manchester Airport, wequeued to check in and were told that the original flight had been split into2. Those that paid for meals went on time and those that had opted out of meals were left delayed for approx 4 hours.

    Hope that is ok?

  • Ps. It was:

Posted this in the general questions topic but been advised to post on here instead.

I flew to Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic with Thomas Cook in 2009. I think there was a delay (though nowhere near as long as some of the post I have read on here ), but it's highly possible I could be getting mixed up with another holiday.

The flight was from Manchester (via Belfast!) on 4th July 2009. The flight number was TCX62K.

I have tried flight stats and its not bringing up anything.

Can anyone put me out of my misery?

The only flight with that number flew back from POP to MAN on 4th July 2009 landing 06.35am on 5th so I'm not sure you have the right flight number and/or date.

That said, flightstats is not always correct and it would be unusual to have an inbound flight from POP without a corresponding outbound sector. I have checked the week before and after and the same applies.

You could write to the airline anyway saying you suffered a long delay etc and see what they come back with.

Thanks for taking the time to look.

That's the only information I could find too.

I have the ticket booklet in front of me:

    Going away flight TCX62K
    Thomas Cook Airlines A330
    Departs Sat 04 Jul 09 Manchester Terminal 1 09:30
Arrives Sat 04 Jul 09 Puerto Plata 15:50
Outbound standard cabin and operates via Belfast

Very strange how there is no information to be found though.
  • Hi, this is my first comment as I have only just become aware of this thread.
In December 2010 I flew from Heathrow to Cuba, there was a 24 hour delay due to a fault with the aircraft. Despite letters to and fro TC refused a penny of compensation.
Is it worth me writing again, has anything changed or should I forget it?
  • What was your new flight number if that was the original one? If there were 2 aircraft they cannot have the same flight number.

That was my flight number, I guess they changed the people who left on time. I think they squeezed them onto another aircraft and swapped the aircraft we were on to a smaller one.

    Thanks
