Quick update - Trav Law have sent me their defence DIRECT, not via the Courts, and asked that all further correspondence is forwarded to them. Checked with MCOL and this is absolutley NOT the case. So if anyone gets a similar letter from this firm, the advice is you do not engage with them, just fill in your Directions form and send it to the Court. ALL CORRESPONDENCE IS TO GO VIA THE COURT, NOTHING DIRECT TO THE AIRLINE OR THEIR SOLICITORS.(unless the Courts specifically ask you to do so)

Of course this is the case. Thomas Crook using a firm just as dirty as they are! :T
My partner and I frequently holiday. We easily spend 6-7K per year between the 2 of us. Your horrible customer service and lack of care have ensured we will never EVER book with Thomas Cook again. And after relaying our horror story to friends and family they have agreed they won't book with you ever again either.
When you break down the costs for baggage, fees, food, etc there is now no savings to be had when flying with you. So why bother with budget airlines? We won't!
Any bets on how long it will take them to go out of business?
ETA: per year, not per trip. Otherwise this wouldn't be in a Thomas Cook thread.0 -
Another victory against TC

This was also won on an appeal from an earlier court ruling.
Dont understand the CAA though with this comment
"The Civil Aviation Authority said Mr Halsall’s legal victory appears to be the first in Britain since the European ruling"
Another tactic to put people of perhaps.0 -
That is because the DT article is dated January 2013, not August and may well have been the first since the ECJ decision last October0

Hi, I am new to forum. I am looking for anyone who has information regarding Thomas Cook Airlines flights from Glasgow 22nd July 2009 to Vancouver and return flight on 26th of August 2009 which was eventually cancelled till 27th August 2009,a delay of 25 hours. We arrived at Vancouver Airport 2 hours before check in on 26th august, after check in proceeded to duty free then to gate .We waited, aircraft for our flight arrived on time.We waited for some time to board, after being on aircraft approx.45 mins we were asked to leave the plane, pilot said there was a problem and they would have to check with engineers in Tolouse factory in France. We were given meal vouchers,we waited a long time then were given a sandwich and a drink,we waited some more and at 11 pm were told to leave duty free at gate secured and were taken back through customs picked up luggage and taken to Sandman Hotel in Rich mond arriving there at mid night, then being told we would be picked up at 6am next mornig 27th August. our flight eventually took off arriving Glasgow 25 hours late.We received a letter at airport explaining delay.I also had a parking charge as my car had been dropped at Glasgow airport on 26th August. The problem I have is I do not have flight numbers, booking reference, boarding passes,or seat numbers. I asked my travel agent Canadian affair for this information, who said they would pass it on to Thomas Cook Airlines, which I do not think they would give to me,living in hope. Iwould be gratefull if anyone can be of assistance regarding this flight or any advice.0

Thats great news, hopefully these airlines will start getting the message that what they are trying to do to their customers is completely wrong. Even when themselves, (TC) a previous hearing, have failed them they have now got justice and the correct result via their appeal. Well Done to them. T/C are you still not listening ????0 -

Thomas Cook Delayed Flight
I am trying to claim for a four hour delayed flight from Gatwick to Fuerteventura in 2009. I do not have the boarding card or booking reference number. I know the date and times of the flight, but Thomas cook say that they will not process this claim without the booking reference number and they will not tell me what it is.Is there anything I can do to obtain this ?0 -
Hi,
Could any one give me a bit of guidance please. Webooked a holiday with My Travel (who Thomas Cook bought out) in Sept 2007.
Our flight was delayed approx 9 hours. We tried to complain immediately after the holiday to no avail. Would it be worth me trying again via Thomas Cook? Does anybody have any experience of success. I know I only have a limited period to get the claim in now!
Thanks0
