You can also be paid in broken dreams and crocodile tears.
(As this question has been asked so many times before, I'm afraid I've now run out of sensible answers and so will be responding along these lines from now on.)
I don't think there is any reason to be so rude about it. If you don't have a sensible answer then don't reply at all!0 -

I thought I was pithy and eccentric rather than rude, but thank you for your feedback all the same.
You might want to put "voucher" in the "search the forum" box where you will find the answer to your question. But hey - why do any work for yourself when someone else can do it for you? (That, I'll concede, was a bit rude;))0 -

No offence intended hear and I certainly don't want to be labelled rude ..........
In all fairness this was not a rude comment and if you had taken the time like most of us on this forum to actually read ALL of the 131 pages of this thread instead of jumping straight to the last page then you will have an understanding of the comment left for you. The question you originally asked has been asked so many times in the previous pages it has began to irritate so many people who have actually read and sometimes re read the posts of ALL 131 pages.0 -
Hi,
Flight: TCX1224 London Gatwick to Enfidha Tunisia, 26.06.2013 1869km
I got back from a 10 day holiday yesterday, my outbound flight TCX1224 was delayed by 4hrs 20 minutes at departure and arrived 4hours late at Enfidha Airport, Tunisia.
We were told numerous times that it was due to a wire that needed replacing in the aircraft and that it was being driven from Luton Airport to us at Gatwick. I tried to get this in writing but apparently the check in managers don't have the resources to do this (I'm not sure how pen & paper is not available by I digress).
I've checked on flight stats and the last status is status-unknown, so I'm wondering if this is normal for flightstats? Is there any way to get more detailed information on the flight arrival? By my count it arrived at 00:45.Jun 26 7:58 PM Time Adjustment- Estimated Gate Departure Changed To 06/26/13 10:00 PM
Jun 26 10:07 PM STATUS-Active- Actual Gate Departure Changed To 06/26/13 10:06 PM
- Status Changed From Scheduled To Active
Jun 26 10:17 PM Time Adjustment- Actual Gate Departure Changed From 06/26/13 10:06 PM To 06/26/13 10:09 PM
Jun 26 10:27 PM Time Adjustment- Actual Runway Departure Changed To 06/26/13 10:14 PM
Jun 27 12:15 PM STATUS-Unknown- Status Changed From Active To Unknown

My glance at flight-stats showed a delayed take-off of 259 minutes. I accept that arrival time is not listed but you have sufficient information (ie your own records) to commence a claim.0 -

Hi there I'm a new user. Just about to start a claim for compensation for an eventual 12 hour flight delay from Newcastle on 28/6/13 to Bourgas on flight TCX6038. We were supposed to depart at 21.10. They initially delayed us until 22.30. Then at 22.30 they delayed us until 00.30. At 00.30 they made an announcement that the flight would not be leaving until the next morning - approx 09.30. We had travelled down from Fife in Scotland. We were removed from the departure lounge and given our luggage back. We were then kept waiting in the check in hall for an hour while they 'made arrangements'. When the airport staff appeared (not a Thomas Cook employee in sight) they proceeded to tell us that there were no hotels available due to other events happening in and around Newcastle at that time. They opened a coffee shop so we could have food and drink. Those who could not go home settled in for a long wait. In dribs and drabs elderly and families were found accomodation for the night. It then occurred to me that being diabetic the insulin I was carrying would only last a certain amount of time in the cool pack I have for it. The airport staff had to put it in a fridge for me. On the strength of me having diabetes however got us a hotel for the night. We were shown to a taxi which took us 50 miles south of Newcastle to Middlesborough!! The taxi driver then demanded £106 at the end of the journey (we were so tired we paid it). We arrived at the hotel at 2.45 and were picked up again at 06.30. We checked in again and finally departed at 10.30. We were given letters at Newcastle then at Bourgas from Thomas Cook apologising for the delay and advising us to claim from our insurance.
Wanted to ask as we were 4 individuals travelling, not a family should we claim individually or should I, as the lead person claim on behalf of the party?0 -
I got a brilliant person from customer relations today so helpful and she did every search going and finally found the other party and payment has been sent by bank transfer will receive this next friday. So thats both partys been paid compensation one £2,040 the other £2,620. Hope you manage to sort yours out
Thanks I will try again tomorrow, they must have their details somewhere, I feel awful we have been paid and they havent0 -
I have tried to claim against Thomas Cook for the following delayed flights:-
TCX248K 23rd September 2010 Manchester Dalaman 15+ hours delay.( Their letter stated 'unforseen significant defect') I am aware that there was a strike in ATC France but this was public knowledge and there was adequate time for contingency. They may try to use this against the claim. The staff actually commented at the time that there was a problem with an engine and the part had not arrived to repair it.
TCX345L 5th October 2010 Dalaman to Manchester 3h.45m delay.( letter states unforseen 'operational' problems). I was advised to contact my insurer. The amount they were willing to pay was less than my excess so it was pointless.
I have sent off the appropriate claim letter with evidence including booking details boarding pass luggage tabs etc in early May 2013. After 42 days I got a ( standard) response saying they needed another 28 days. I informed them that I felt they had adequate time and information to have investigated my claim and informed them of my intent to escalate through small claims asking them to respond before 5th July 2013 . Nothing since.
Has anyone had any success with these flights?
I travelled with them on flight TCX 2545 24th June 2013 Dalaman to Manchester again 3+ hours delay ( sleeping on a marble floor at the gate) so I have put in a claim regarding that one too on 26th June not heard anything yet. Has anyone heard anything about this flight or had any success?
I will keep forum informed of any progress.
Incidentally Thomas Cook seem to be issuing time defined 'travel vouchers' instead of cash . This is a really cheap way of getting out of compensating passengers, they only have to incur the 'cost price' of travel and if the voucher expires you get nothing ( which is what they hope for). If claimants are entitled to the compensation then you should be reimbursed with the cash to have the choice to travel with them or another operator.
Wish me luck.0 -

We were delayed on Flight TCX6219 on 28th June. This was Mahon to Newcastle, and was delayed because of a diversion to Barcelona to fix an issue with plane. It was due in @ NCL at 20.10, so I guess this plane was to be used for your flight, hence your delay. Like you, we never saw a Thomas Cook Rep whilst we are asked to wait in the departure lounge whilst the plane was being fixed. No announcements, no updates, no refreshments.0
