Hi I have just sent a request for compensation (using which template) for our flight MON3726 from manchester to Sharm El Sheihk on 10/06/2012. When we arrived at the Airport we were told that our plane was going to be delayed and they had changed the check in desk. Then when we arrived at the check in desk we were told that they had overbooked the flight and that we would not be able to fly. We were put on another flight that left late afternoon but cannot find any details of the flight we were put on on the flight stats site. How do I find the details or will they reply and tell me this?
thanks for any help.0 -

I seem to recall the fuel shortage was due to a strike so that would be an EC so exempt
Done a bit of Googling, it was due to contaminated fuel from one of the suppliers, so probably outside the airlines control0 -

First off the forum is a hoot...:j
Can someone please confirm the address to send claims to Thomas Cook..I have seen a few different ones on the forum..
Also my claim is for a flight from Corfu to Manchester in May 2009
there was 5 in our group...
I have the flight number which was a Mon1829 .. 25/05/2009 booked with Thomas Cook..we had a 7 hr delay..Originally I booked & paid for 2 return flights.. dept 11th May returning 25th May... and then booked and paid for My son/wife & grand daughter to dept 18th May returning 25th May.. I have the booking reff for my sons booking but cannot locate my own reff..(does it matter)
Also does being a Monarch flight have any bearing who I Make the claim to.
Also has anyone used one of the many claim companies who do it for you? just curious..
Any advice welcome..0 -
I have been 8 months trying to get compensation from Thomas Cook following a 4 and a half hour delay when returning from Kos 13th July 2012 to Manchester. They first refused saying that compensation is not due unless 5 hours delayed which i challenged, they then said they were refusing my claim as the ECJ were reviewing the Sturgeon/Block case. I asked for my claim to be held in abeyance not refused which they agreed to do. After the ECJ ruled in my favour I asked for Thomas Cook to settle my outstanding claim they then refused again saying that "extreme technical difficulties" was the reason for non payment. I have written to the ABTA and CAA and await the outcome of their investigations. I would like to know if there are there any other passengers from this flight claiming or who have been successful ?0

So this may indicate that the airline might potentially clear the first hurdle, but ECs don't stop there. What about the spare aircraft capacity that the European courts expect large airlines to have? Where was their spare aircraft to accommodate those stranded passengers? Can the airline prove it took every step possible to avoid a delay once they became aware of the fuel problem? I can still see this claim succeeding.0
