Hi everyone, another chaos day here, none stop. Only the third time I have sat down. Still not managed to fit study time in, must do some tonight. TMA due by 9th and not done much with being ill, when I read it I just didn't remember anything of it so gave up. Thankfully cough is much better, just a few times a day, voice still sounds a tad rough.
Got a bit annoyed with myself as trying to loose weight and disn't even shed a lb last week, but fingers crossed for this week being better. Suppose GP did say when trying to stop smoking, stop anti D meds etc she'd be happy if I just stayed same which I have but still feel disappointed.
Had several tiffs with DP today, he's still using the ankle as an excuse (but ok doing things he wants to) and his wasting money. I wish we could have something that showed electric as we used it rather than just meter. Running shower for 10-15 mins to 'warm the room/shower up' before he gets in, using things when others would be cheaper etc. Then there is the amount of money it's going to cost to go to things he wants to this year, inc having to take time off work to go aswell as several being a few hundred miles away. I think he's just getting on my nerves in general.
Not had chance to read through yet so hope everyone is well, big hugs to anyone who isn't or just fancies one
One day I might be more organised...........

am just scoffing a piece of Sidoli's coffee and walnut cake - individually wrapped at £2.35 a slice!   dont worry it was a free sample from DH's work;)
could make 2 whole cakes for that! and its not really that nice either:rolleyes:
Am off to pigeon club with DH in 10 mins, am going to Aldis and Morrisons while he is there to get the shopping.

Afternoon all
Gosh it's nice to be able to catch up with everyone on today's thread.
:grouphug: to all the poorly !!!!! cats
Sorry to hear they are not doing to well, but it sounds like they will all pull through! I would love to have cats but I'm not in one place for long enough and it wouldn't be fair (sp?) on them.
After last night's meal today I've picked up some vegetables to roast with hummous and salad for tea. If only I hadn't bought some choccie biscuits yesterday which I can hear calling me :rotfl:
Um...still no essay written. Drove into Plymouth for meeting with student..who cancelled (grrr) and then met for lunch with ex-colleague. I can't believe it was nearly a year ago my whole life did a flip and I ended up working in London! How time flies.
My car was cleaned whilst I was pottering around in town....£50 for a full valet:eek:  But I haven't cleaned it in 2 years so I guess if you spread that over...it's only £0.50 a week
I also picked up some bits and bobs, not looking forward to putting them into MSMoney as I bet it will add up to a bit. I've been having some No Spend days recently so I hate having to spend money! But I was very good and didn't buy a bag for £6 in Primark, even though it was lovely and I fell in love and it was so pretty....ok I'll shut up!
Now....I'm sure someone mentioned about me writing an essay?

P.S. Completely forgot to say...very exciting news.. I bought some washing pegs!! Now this might not seem like a big event for most of you but I have NEVER EVER lived anywhere where I could peg out some washing (well...since I left my mum's when I was 18). I'm the proud owner of one of those spinny washing line things (see, I don't even know what they are called!). Tomorrow I am going to hang my damp clothes out, oh I can't wait. There is nothing like outdoor dried clothes, much better than the slightly damp smell you sometimes get from drying them inside.
Can you tell I'm excited?

DANNA - yes my BM does have a dough setting. Also, is it OK to halve all the ingredients to make a smaller loaf - my first one was huge?! I've taken a picture of it and will post it on a smaller post later - I don't want to risk losing this post after all this typing if I try and copy it.
'
Don't halve the ingredients, not quite that straightforward.
How much flour did you use before?
Here are the quantities for three different sizes of loaf, starting with the quantity of flour for each. Don't worry if the recipe you've been following isn't the same, you can use the following as a guide to help you adjust your recipe.
400g flour = half teasp yeast; 1 tablesp sugar, half oz butter, 1 tablesp milk powder, 1 teasp salt, 280ml water
500g flour = 1 teasp yeast; 1 tablesp sugar, 1 oz butter, 1.5 tablesp milk powder, 1.5 teasp salt, 350ml water
600g flour = 1 and a quarter teasp yeast, 1.5 tablesp sugar, 1.5 oz butter, 2 tablesp milk powder, 1.5 teasp salt, 400ml water
And a dough setting too... roll on naan breads, piadines, home made pizza....0 -
Mushy you should have said, I have a bag full of pegs going spare, we have a built in Laundry here, so I do not use pegs anymore, I love the smell of linen dried outside too..........................Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.0

DH happy as I made his favourite pea soup and also cauliflower cheese.
DDs happy as I made them bacon and eggs for tea as that is what they fancied.
Youngest is happy as I found the yummy choc and vanilla ice cream from Lidl after rummaging around the freezer.
Washing is drying nicely on the line and spent afternoon at Mr.T. getting a few bits and bobs that I canot get in our small town.
Moggins
Lovely to see you back. I am reminded of a friend who left her husband years ago and is now much better off financially (despite less money coming in) as she knows what she has got and can arrange things properly. Ex and girl friend are always skint and live on takeaways - they cannot work out why she is happy and coping very well indeed without him. I think most of us on here have a good idea of why.Lol!
Hugs to everyone with poorly animals and stroppy teenagers."This site is addictive!"

Hello all,
here goes another one of my 'not much of anything' posts
Absolutely gorgeous weather here today: it started off really cloudy, but now it's blue sky all the way, and really warm!
It's been a busy week - I really don't know where the time has gone. On my 5th day of no sweets, crisps or chocolate, and if the scales are right I'm losing weight which is great :j On the not so nice side, i managed to break off a nail rather far down the nailbed this afternoon and now it hurts
Need to get the WM on this evening, and maybe clear through the kitchen a bit. Otherwise, not a huge amount planned!
(and I directed a friend to this website today, and told her to come to the board and have a look around - hello if you're reading this Karen!) :rotfl:
*hugs* to all, take or leave as you please.....:D0 -
Good evening to all, hugs to all in need or want.
Very busy today with most of the family here, some of us visited their new cousin, he is almost seven weeks old and doing very well.
Moggins, lovely to see you back and doing so well
Baked whole salmon for dinner, very good with salad starter, mash and spinach..just fruit for dessert, as none of family ( except mother!) has a very sweet tooth.
Samsam, thanks for ice cream recipe, will try it as soon as my raspberries come in.
Sky beginning to turn pink here, so hopefully we are in for a nice day to-morrow.

Hi - hope everyone's having a good Friday!
DANNA - thanks a lot for your recipes. I used the quantities given in my manual - 3 and a quarter of the cup that came with the BM; I followed it all to the letter as it was my first attempt! It tasted really good but was freakily tall! I'll have a go with your lists of ingredients and see what happens. What would I do without you? Thanks again. Have a lovely evening. I will get round to posting the photo of 'the Empire State Loaf' soon! I just thought I'd have a 'quick' look on here because dinner is almost ready to dish up but you know what it's like! You have to read the posts to catch up and the time just flies!
LIL_ME - glad your cough has gone but poor you - men can be so stubborn. I thought I read somewhere, in the papers, that there is something you can attach to the meter to show electricity being used. Tell him, also, that I heard that the kettle is the most expensive thing in a house - when it's actually on. Anything that heats water is very costly so you could point that out to him. I would go to your electicity supplier's website and see if they have a chart to show how much everything costs to run and, also, if they know about this thing to attach to the meter. You could print the chart out and put it where he can't help noticing it. Good luck.
CSARINA - what time is dinner on Sunday. I'll bring the Muscadet - you supply the yummy lamb!
MUSHY - enjoy pegging out! In the nicest sense, of course!
ELONA - glad you're happy!
Well, this is not going to be one of my epics - I have to put the spinach on and check that my bread-and-butter pudding has salvaged yesterday's HM wholemeal rolls!
See you later. (((hugs))) to all!KNIT YOUR SQUARE TOTALS:
