    Morning all.

Going to re-stock my breadmaker supplies this weekend. About time I got back into it again. Speaking of which...anyone got a lemon & lime marmalade recipe I can use in the breadmaker.

Lily didn't want her breakfast this morning for some strange reason...but bearly 2 hours later she decided that she was hungry and took 4ozs of milk. She's now in the cot screaming. She was asleep but some nasty mummy had to give her some medicine. In the process she woke up. So now she's dumped. I hope she doesn't keep it up long...I have a headache already.

    Welcome back Moggins
Well I has some bad news yesterday went home from work at 5 I was first one in since everyone left at 8 called for our cat as he hadnt come in for his breakfast which is unusual but does happen now and again left the back door open and got on with some cleaning then I caught him out of the corner of my eye limping in, DD14 in by then, noticed as well we went over to him and when he looked up his poor face his jaw was hanging covered in blood, DD started crying and I must admit I nearly started, we managed to get him in his box to the vets who luckliey saw us straight away and as I thought he had been knocked down probably the night before he was probably in shock somewhere till he managed to get home, so to cut a long story short we had to leave him at the vets overnight they are going to give him antibotics to xray him and maybe operate on him today so fingers crossed please everyone for Harry I have got to ring vets after 2

  • Morning all, just checking in briefly as I've got lots to do today. Hugs to all those who need them, and happy birthday to Miss Catowen, hope you have a lovely day.

Took my poorly puss cat back to the vet for a check up on Wednesday, saw a different vet (partner at the firm) and he was surprised that her medication (for over active thyroid) was making her so ill and miserable. He took yet another blood test and rang me yesterday to say that she was being drastically over-medicated and to cut the dosage by three quarters:mad: I'm really upset that she's had to suffer so much misery over the past three months. I'm hoping that it hasn't done any damage to her internal organs. Poor little kitty.

Have done two loads of washing already but it's grey and miserable here so not sure it will dry (towels). Indulged in a nice grilled breakie so am now ready to tackle the ironing (hooray) and the ton of other stuff waiting for my attention.

    Have a good day everyone

PS patentgirl you were posting at the same time, many HUGS to Harry, I hope he's OK xxx

Patentgirl: way back when my cat was run over and dragged 200 yards down the road. Didn't see it myself....but my mum did. She got her to the vets and after being seen to and a stay at the vets she came home fine. She wasn't herself for quite a while and always dribbled when purring after that (lost a bit of her tongue)...but other than that she was fine.

I hope that Harry is the same.

How awful for you. All is not lost though, cats do have a remarkable abillity to recover from car accidents. Our boy was hit by a car and had a collapsed lung.... he survived. And I saw a note in our vet recently looking to rehome a cat that had been hit by a car. The extent of his injuries was terrible, including the loss of an eye, but he was now fully recovered and ready for a home.

Let us know when you have any news

    'Morning Everyone!
Great to hear things are going well Moggins!
Things busy here, but on an up at present. DH saw consultant, and swelling is due to his diabetes and the effect on his salivary glands, so nothing to worry about unduly. (Huge sigh of relief!) Son, partner and granddaughter have been with us for a day or two prior to flying out to Germany this morning - son has been putting this off as hadn't met partner's family before! However, has just rung to say arrived safely and depite the fact he speaks no German is being made to feel very welcome. He's really been in a state about this, so I'm pleased all is well! His partner's such a lovely person and I know she's wanted to take him and the little one home for some time now.
Even my back is beginning to feel better - so long as I keep swallowing the pills! the physio is really helping. Mind, I could quite like being at home I've decided!
Hope you all enjoy today - and big hugs to all in need.

((((Hugs)))) to all those with sick/injured pets. That's one of the reasons I don't have pets - cos I'm a wuss and can't deal with seeing them ill or hurt :o

Phoned the service dept at John Lewis and they put me onto the centre that Bosch use for service calls (as it's still within manufacturer's warranty). Now got somebody coming out to look at my poorly fridge-freezer next Tuesday. In the meantime I will freeze ice-blocks in the freezer bit (which is working fine) and transfer them to the broken fridge section to help keep things cool. I have loads and loads of nice stuff in the freezer so to be honest I hope the fridge is mendable, as there's nothing wrong with the freezer section and I don't want the hassle of having to swap everything over, waiting for it to reach the right temp etc.

And I finally got round to sending that faulty top back to Bravissimo (SIX DAYS after phoning to book the replacement :o)... in fact when I say "I"returned it, I mean I persuaded my (male) boss to do it for me when he popped out to the post office before lunch :D :T

PP, I am very jealous about the Kenwood Chef :D

Ticklemouse, if you're reading this I hope all is going well.

MushyPeas - your diet sounds quite like mine :D :rotfl:

    ((((hugs)))) cazziebo

Good afternoon everyone. I haven't dropped by for a while so thought I'd pop in now. And there goes the buzzer on the cooker so this will have to be very quick.

Already walked down into town for a couple of lamb kebabs from the butcher and today's Guardian, local paper, plus this week's TES - not money-saving at all . . . . .

Stripped bed and washed and hung the sheets etc on the line in a gale-force wind - that was fun. Oh, and using wooden pegs not plastic for those who've been reading another thread over on DT was it?

But must go and create a wonderful lunch now - well, baked potato plus various salady stuff as well.

    More later maybe.
