How clean is your house? Truthfully!

Have you got a house where you could quite happily invite someone in, unexpectedly?
Our house is always clean but definately not always tidy! Now this doesn't bother anyone else in our house, and they will quite happily invite unexpected guests into the house, where as I like to pretend our house is always 100% perfect (and therefore need notice for anyone coming round haha!) This obviosuly works as a friend yesterday asked how the house is always so neat.....when truthfully it isn't! :o

Remember people come to see YOU, not your house.

  • Ours is clean, but not particularly tidy.

With a 2 year old though, that is par for the course really!

If it were left up to me it would be quite untidy. I've never been one for tidying.

However, since I employ a cleaner to come in twice a week it's pretty clean and tidy, except for my office which she doesn't clean.

Right now the house is a dirty tip, because i am recovering from an operation and OH has been in sole charge since the beginning of December. It's utterly disgusting and embarrassing right now.

Usually I keep it mostly clean but not always tidy. We are unable to do totally tidy in our house, we are all pathologically incapable of it, but it's more lived-in than jumble sale.

My house isn't spotless, and it has untidy rooms but it's generally okay.

No one ever calls when I've just spring cleaned and tidied up but they do when I'm in the middle of a rant to DD to move her school work, nail polishes, hair straightners, cleansing wipes, hair brush etc. from the living room :D

I like to keep what I call the "public" parts of my house clean and tidy in case anyone calls unexpectedly( they rarely do, apart from one friend who couldn't care less about mess ).

By public, I mean hall, stairs, landing, loo ( we only have an upstairs loo ) and bathroom, main living room and visible end of the kitchen ( not utility end).
I only normally clean once a week plus maybe a quick hoover in between. But we have no kids or pets so that helps.
The rest is full of clutter!!!
