How clean is your house? Truthfully!

Mines fairly tidy but not exactly very clean!
I keep kitchen worktops & fridge etc clean (and dirty teacups make me feel ill, so you'd always be garunteed a clean and nicely made cuppa), but the rest of the place is quite dusty and as the house itself isn't in the greatest condition some areas could be considered quite grubby, that said it's certainly not a candidate for how clean is your house.
There's no rubbish hanging around (I have a bin in every room), but sometimes there's loads of washing up (wish I had a dishwasher) sometimes there's none, spills get cleaned up straight away, and I do hoover - just not as often as some people! I hate messes being left around and like things to be put away in the right place so I can always find things, I just hate cleaning!A waist is a terrible thing to mind.0 -
I do admire people who can live in chaos though. My sisters house always looks like a bomb has just gone off. Clothes hanging everywhere waiting to be ironed. Kids toys all over the place. She is a definate 'take me as you find me' type of gal.
Am I your sister?
My kitchen floor is dirty. I hate the kitchen because the walls and ceiling need cleaning. I hate the bathroom because it's mouldy and my asthma's been bad so I can't handle cleaning it, and my husband's back is bad so he can't do it either. The bath, sink, loo and floor are clean but the walls and ceiling are embarrassing.
Just now my teenager brought friends home unexpectedly, and one of them used the bathroom. The washing pile is enormous, it's fallen out of the basket and there's just a big pile on the floor
The ironing board is still up with a basket of ironing filling one chair, and the space where the christmas tree used to be needs dusting. I've forgotten to take the christmas ornaments off the mantel piece, but even though I've seen that it needs doing I haven't done it.
I don't seem to 'see' mess, and I always put things off until Monday (when I have the school day free for shopping and cleaning, and nothing else to do).52% tight0 -
My house is tidy but not necessarily clean. :rotfl:just in case you need to know:

I thought mine was not too bad until I looked up in the sitting room and saw a large spiders web dangling down and in the kitchen a couple lurking around the light fitting, am afraid to go upstairs now!
I usually hoover twice a week and wipe up any spills as I go along and clean the kitchen down as I cook. I was going to clean the windows today but DH had other ideas (prepping the kitchen for a lick of paint. I really hate cleaning the bathroom but I do it as I step out of the shower so it takes no time at all in reality.
DH calls me a tidyholic as I like to put stuff away but guess who he comes to when he cant find his stuff?? Yep me!
He has got better the last year o two but I cant stay in his domain (the garage) as its so untidy and full of motorbike bits, tools, wood shavings, etc.. but blokes are always happy down there with a brew, so if anyone visits then its take me as you find me but it should be alright!SPC Nbr.... 1484....£800 Saved £946 in 2013)

My house is generally very clean and tidy. I live in a small three bedroomed flat with four kids and it has to be clean and tidy for us all to be able to function. I can't abide clutter or dirt
. It really stresses me. It's rubbed off on my youngest who is the most tidy, orderly 5 year old I know! 0 -
Its a hell of a lot better since i've been with my bf. It was a tip before, so bd that he actually insisted on helping me clean it which made me realise how shameful a state it was in. Part of the reason it got so bad was my bipolar, cleaning when depressed just seemed impossible and at the time i just didn't care. But now, i'm feeling somewhat better i do keep on top of it.
That said could do with having a bit of a tidy and doing the washing up

I wouldn't want my mum just to pop round (luckily they live too far away tp do that) she would have a fit most days.
I knew they were coming to visit today so I spent a couple of hours yesterday cleaning even the skirting boards behind the settee that i knew would be moved because we would setting up the new fish tank,. I got up early so I could pre[pare the meal in advance so the kitchen could be cleaned and the food could be shoved in the oven.
even with all that my mum still managed to brush up a load of dirt and recleaned the skirting! Bless her.0 -
It's fairly clean thanks to my DH who is a clean freak but its a small house and every now and again it goes through stages of untidiness. I can ignore it for so long then it drives me insane. Currently there is stuff piled on the stairs and the landing which has got to be put away tomorrow!
On Thursday the oven and stairs/landing carpet are being cleaned. My NY resolution is to not let the oven get to the minging stage again....0 -

I don't like it being filthy but I don't go for spotless either as, in my experience, people with spotless houses are twice as likely to get stomach bugs and other nasties.
I'm sure it's not healthy to have a house that's too clean. That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it!
That's me too! My other reason being - a house is not a home until you can write 'I love you' in the dust!:rotfl:0 -
Downstairs is always tidy (not immaculate......I have 6 children living here..but very tidy..besides my desk and the never ending clean piles of washing for the kids to take up when they get home :P)
I clean through downstairs daily.
I hate doing it.
I loved the fact this house had 3 bathrooms when we bought it. I hate that now!!!!!
Upstairs is a different matter. We haven't renovated up there. I gt the kids to keep their rooms vaguely clean and tidy (13 year olds room is disgusting no matter what
)
My room is a dumping ground and still has bare brick where we took a wall down to make the room bigger. I cannot remember the last time I cleaned in there. (I long for a nice bedroom this year!)
I hate cleaning SO much though. I do it and it needs doing again b the evening.
I don't know why I do it so much or why 'stuff' bothers me..I go to other peoples house and couldn't give a damn if it is tidy or not.
Downstairs sparkles. Upstairs is no where near :P0
